Did we get to #19 yet or have to wait a year.......

Seriously, we only had to win two games at a ballpark we lost only FIVE times this year in against a team without their best pitcher and had a losing record. The table will never be sat that well again.

Meh. I didn't even consider it a playoff series. I know that is what it will count as in the record books, but the notion that you can determine who a stronger team is over a 3 game series, and the winner only has to win twice, is absurd. There should have been a provision in place for the higher seed teams, like, it should have been a best of 3 for the high seed, but the low seed should have had to win 3 times. Maybe a best of 5 series like the old divisional series. Any team in baseball can win 2 in a row at any given time. We got swept in a series by the freaking royals at one point for goodness sake!

And Detroit.

baseball was my favorite sport for 30 years (now football) and besides the slow pace of the game, what did it for me was that there are 5 pitchers on each team so the teams have such a different look each and every game it's hard to judge how good they are. 10 total pitchers is 25 potential matchups. it's not like FB where you know who the QB is each and every game.

We now wait to see which players have played their last game as a Twin. My guess in decending order:

Bailey
Rosario
Avila
Gonzalez
Adrianza
Astudillo
Thielbar
Hill
Romo
Cruz

One of those middle three of untility guys better be back. I like the turtle there but he needs more at bats

Depends on how young the brain trust wants to go. I had Austudillo as the most most likely of the three to be back. Gonzalez makes too much to return and is most likely moving on.

I bet Cruz is back with the Twins. Seems to be mutual interest there. Think they need to trade Rosario and let Rooker or Kirilloff take over in left. Also guessing the rest you listed are gone except maybe Romo.

While I expected the Twins to get past the Astros, nothing really surprised me. Ultimately come playoff time the pitching is usually good enough you aren't going to be able to hit 3-4 solo or 2R Home Runs in a game. Unless you are an all-time great power team you are probably going to have to string together a couple hits and have some productive outs every once in a while. It's tough to make a living with small ball in the regular season in most parks. It works in the playoffs, though if you can make it there.

It's just hard to say what they should do moving forward. Would love to have Cruz for one more year and have Buck actually stay healthy all year. They don't need guys to all get back to 2019 form, but somewhere between 2019 and 2020 for Arraez, Kepler, Garver and Polanco would be a pretty good lineup. I like the Donaldson gamble, but that was a bust.

If I remember right in the regular season I think the Twins were like 17th or 18th in runs scored. Plus it sure seems like there was a big standard deviation there. Lots of big games and lots of really quite ones offensively, too.

It just showed up in the mail today. Life just keeps kicking me right in the stones.

So Im not real up on details, but isn’t Rosario a must keep? Talent level seems to drop off pretty far after him.

This is a cool partnership. Will make the baseball more fun to watch. Sounds like tickets will remain reasonable still which is good. I hope they keep the charm of the Saints games too with all the extra curricular stuff

Any news on any of these guys? Is the TC media still saying Cruz and Rosario won't be back?

Since it's NFL season all the sports peeps here do is talk Viking Vikings Vikings Vikings Viking and something something Vikings.

They non-tendered Rosario as you know which makes him gone unless they free agent sign him which ain't happening. The take here was that after his "farewell" statement there is no free agent likelihood since no mutual interest.

Since it doesn't sound like the NL adds DH for 2021 Cruz is being talking about more positively with respect to him re-signing. If the NL had opted for DH he was likely to get a way better offer from all of those NL teams looking for a quick fix at DH.
