Tough day for EIU hoops hopes

And Fran has been awful in FebruaryMarch most years. I didn’t think Prohm was awful in 18-19- time will tell on the future.

Calling the integrity of refs into question makes someone a bad person now?

Interesting.

"Mr. Pollard's public statements called into question the integrity and competence of game officials and the Conference's officiating program," stated Commissioner Bob Bowlsby. "To insinuate that games are called unfairly to negatively impact a program is irresponsible and completely baseless. Accordingly, the seriousness of this violation warrants a public reprimand and a financial penalty. We take pride in our officiating programs and will continue to strive for the highest possible standards and the fairest competition."

As I’ve said previously, I’m pretty temperate of Fran. Not a fan of his meltdowns. He’s not going to win a Coach of the Year award anytime soon. Seems to be a good person off the court. Saying he’s a bad person for blowing up on the refs while coaching and questioning their integrity seems like a stretch to me, but whatever.

this is a bad effort. criticizing a ref with those words versus a ranting lunatic is different. Be better.

Remember though, Jamie went chasing them thru the tunnels and called them a disgrace, while sports writers continually tweet about his actions.
Fran gas gotten a lot of conference apology letters, so maybe I should let it slide.

Barta on the podium for a minute when cutting four sports, then leaving. Talk about showing some compassion!!

I remember seeing the video of Fran chewing out Patrick from behind the bench during a high school game. I don’t care if you are an NBA coach or college coach, learn how to a parent sometimes!!

Nine years ago I was in my third year of officiating basketball. A big AAU event was held at the old eiu fieldhouse. I was assigned to do the U-15 girls championship on a floor next to the boys U-8. Quite a crowd around the boys floor. It was an IC team vs a team from Muskieville.

I could hear one parent louder than any other really ******** about the officiating. During a time-out in my game I saw who it was,.....MadFran.

It was the day after this little episode, https://thumbs.gfycat.com/CompetentAltruisticEyra-size_restricted.gif

Nah, Jamie just holds a press conferences to accuse the Big12 and it’s officials of a conspiracy is all.

I agree that Prohm did not land any impact transfers this offseason. He sure missed on a few though.

D.J. Carton, Marquette: How will the Golden Eagles replace Markus Howard? They can’t, but adding Carton is a nice start. An import from Ohio State, this 6-2 lefty should have an immediate impact for Marquette at point guard.

Bryce Aiken, Seton Hall: Aiken spurned the Pirates for Harvard when he made his college decision a few years ago and now returns to South Orange as a graduate transfer. His evolution as a primary point guard will ultimately control the ceiling for Seton Hall in 20-21.

Terrell Gomez, San Diego State: This 5-8 guard was a scorer (19.8 points in 19-20) during his entire career at Cal State Northridge and now will play a major role as a graduate transfer for the Aztecs. Gomez made a combined 216 three-point shots during the past two seasons.

Alan Griffin, Syracuse: Syracuse will miss Elijah Hughes’ offense, but Griffin should fill his role seamlessly. The 6-5 wing averaged 8.9 points last year at Illinois and made 47 three-point shots while only averaging 18.1 minutes. Now set to have an expanded role with the Orange, Griffin should be a double-figure scorer and starter for Syracuse in 20-21.

Justin Smith, Arkansas: Eric Musselman loves versatile pieces that can do different things on the floor and that’s what should make Smith such a great fit in Fayetteville. The 6-7 forward plays with great bounce and led Indiana in minutes played last season, averaging 10.4 points and 5.4 rebounds.

JCL and Hinson were better than Gomez. A lot of Iowa State fans didn't want Gomez but I did just an FYI

Thank you for your continued investment into the ISU sports programs.

It’s impressive really.

I did too... but if I new Tyler Harris would have been avaliable at the time I would have chosen Tyler (especially knowing he's eligible now). i'd guess Hinson would have made the top 25 list, if he was eliglible this year.
JCL will be an top 25 impact transfer by years end IMO.

Of course you will spin it so the guy you got was the guy you wanted all along.
