The fact that you think a season in which 6 of the top 25 teams in the country won't compete is legitimate makes me not really care. But anything can happen. PSU would have a had a shot at the CFP this year too IMHO.Yeesh. Someone's angry this morning. Incredible answer too considering you couldn't give one.

Well that'd be a little extreme wouldn't it? This is obviously going to be a weird and different season, but there have been plenty of weird seasons throughout the history of sports. Lockouts, injuries by high level players that would've changed the outcome, obviously this year in professional sports with everything. One thing doesn't change though, and that is that teams still go out there and play, with the winner of it all being crowned as the champ.
The B1G, the Pac-12, and their fans don't get to say s*** as far as determining whether they believe this season is legit or not. Their conferences decided to stop playing for their reasons. End of story.
No doubt all BIG 10 and Pac 12 fans are disappointed that their teams aren't playing. But if you think that means we don't get to voice our opinions you're nuts. Say that ISU finishes the season 7-3 and ranked #21, which is a realistic outcome I think. When an ISU fan throws the top 25 finish in our faces, our response will be "congratulations on your top (*) 25 finish". That's just what's going to happen. And to be honest, I think we both know the same thing would happen if the shoe was on the other foot. I'm sincerely happy for you guys that you get to watch your team this season and yes I'm jealous. But the BIG 10 not playing is out of my control and it's not going to keep me from giving you guys crap.

Totally understandable. And your point of the top-25 finish in which ISU hypothetically goes 7-3.. we probably would've finished in the top-25 anyway. The only loss we might've had would've been on the road @ a ranked Iowa team. That's a good loss with an 8-4 finish. No doubt all BIG 10 and Pac 12 fans are disappointed that their teams aren't playing. But if you think that means we don't get to voice our opinions you're nuts. Ohio State was going to win the Big 10 this year barring an injury to Fields. And although anything CAN happen, the top 10 at the end of the year are virtually the same every year, give or take two teams. The fact that you think a season in which 6 of the top 25 teams in the country won't compete is legitimate makes me not really care. Who knows how it would/will play out? What if it's an 8-2 and 2nd place in the SEC finishing Alabama team? They make the playoff knowing full well they probably wouldn't be there if there was an undefeated or even 1 loss BIG 10 or PAC 12 champ. The most likely scenario is that the SEC will get a 2nd team in the playoff that most likely wouldn't be there in a "normal" year.Totally understandable. Where your argument would carry more weight would be if us Iowa State fans would throw around that we had a 3 loss year. That wouldn't be close to being legit.
My whole thing about legitimacy pertains more to the CFP and the National Championship game. If it's Clemson vs. Alabama, I don't think anyone outside of Columbus, Ohio is going to be claiming this season was a sham.
Just because the Big Ten isn't playing means Iowa State's season isn't legitimate? Did someone hack into your account?
It's a tainted year for sure.Just because the Big Ten isn't playing means Iowa State's season isn't legitimate? Did someone hack into your account?
I really think the only effect it will have on Iowa State will be two less winsIt's a tainted year for sure.
If you mean disappointed that we don't have football this fall then you are correct.Man, the butt hurt is running strong today.
I'm pissed. Watching The BIG potentially play a 6-8 game season starting in January will be even worse. At least you guys will have some sense of normalcy, If B12/SEC/ACC can get through the whole season.FIFY
In the last 2 seasons you've been within 1 play of losing to both UNI and Drake. I don't think you're in a position to take any wins for granted.I really think the only effect it will have on Iowa State will be two less wins
That's not going to happen. Lol cmon you know thatWatching The BIG potentially play a 6-8 game season starting in January will be even worse.

It's happened once already in a normal year. Also, it should probably be discussed that the likelihood of Notre Dame and Clemson both making the playoffs this year is drastically higher. They play once in the regular season and then will most likely meet again in the title game. If they split, both will get in with a Big 12 school and an SEC school.Who knows how it would/will play out? What if it's an 8-2 and 2nd place in the SEC finishing Alabama team?
