So did everybody else. ACC and SEC increased the number of conference games.
Yes their schedules are also more difficult than their original ones too

Respectfully disagree. The playoff will relatively be the same as it has been. You're talking 1-2 SEC teams (Bama and Georgia battling for one of the spots normall), Clemson, then usually you would have Oklahoma, Ohio State, and MAYBE a PAC-12 team. So really all you've done is fill one of the spots with another SEC team and then the last spot will be a Big12 school. Which has already happened, back in 2018I think the CFP has an asterisk. Not the Big 12 champioship.
even if you just consider the preseason top 10 as the contenders for the CFP you have lost 3 teams. Plus you have Ohio state with one of the 2 Heisman frontrunners. Lmfao. It's August man. Don't sit there and try and act like preseason ranks and Heisman "front runners" in August are the same as what they are in November or Decembereven if you just consider the preseason top 10 as the contenders for the CFP you have lost 3 teams. If you just look at the history:
ACC: 6 appearances (Clemson - 5, FSU - 1)
SEC: 7 appearances (Alabama -5, Georgia - 1, LSU - 1)
Pac-12: 2 appearances (Oregon - 1, Washington - 1)
Big 12: 4 appearances (Oklahoma)
B1G: 4 appearances (Ohio State - 3, Michigan State - 1)
Independent: 1 appearance (Notre Dame)
So, 3 teams in the current Top-10 aren't playing this year, but I'm sorry.. Penn State and Oregon were not going to make it in. Ohio State is the only team sitting out that had a decent shot of making the playoff this year. And Heisman frontrunners don't mean a lick at this time. Fun to look at and debate, but they really mean nothing. Martinez from Nebraska was on some frontrunner lists this time last year. The Heisman ended up going to Joe Burrow who I would regard casual CFB fans didn't even know.
Oregon has had a decent shot to make the playoff virtually every year since it's started, however they've lost a game almost every year to someone they have no business losing to. And I wouldn't be surprised if USC would've made a big jump this year.I would say Oregon had a decent shot at making the playoff after everybody went to conference games only. Not because they are one of the 4 best teams, but there just weren’t that many good teams in the Pac-12 this year.
All fair. USC is with Texas as a quintessential wildcard. Could beat any team than come back an lose to a trash team the next week.Oregon has had a decent shot to make the playoff virtually every year since it's started, however they've lost a game almost every year to someone they have no business losing to. You just got done saying Clemson will be there and Bama/Georgia. So it's not fair to say Ohio St is ? Fields is right there with Lawrence as the best returning QB. Ohio st would have been as legit of a contender as anyone.Lmfao. It's August man. Maybe Fields can win the Heisman without even playing this season. You just got done saying Clemson will be there and Bama/Georgia. So it's not fair to say Ohio St is ? Fields is right there with Lawrence as the best returning QB. Ohio st would have been as legit of a contender as anyone.
There was an extremely high chance OSU was making the CFP as well as Fields being a contender. Outside of OSU though, there's not another team you could make a claim that they had a good chance to make the playoffs or have a player be a Heisman candidate. You just got done saying Clemson will be there and Bama/Georgia. Well maybe they should just match up the ACC champ vs the SEC champ and call it good then? Since no other teams left playing have even ever won a playoff game why bother. There was an extremely high chance OSU was making the CFP as well as Fields being a contender. So, losing one team and one player doesn't all of a sudden dismiss the legitimacy of the season.

Well that'd be a little extreme wouldn't it? This is obviously going to be a weird and different season, but there have been plenty of weird seasons throughout the history of sports. Lockouts, injuries by high level players that would've changed the outcome, obviously this year in professional sports with everything. One thing doesn't change though, and that is that teams still go out there and play, with the winner of it all being crowned as the champ.Well maybe they should just match up the ACC champ vs the SEC champ and call it good then? Do you think there is another team out there that's not playing besides Ohio State that would've made the CFP?
Do you have the name of your mother's OB/GYN? I'd like to smack him/her in the face.Do you think there is another team out there that's not playing besides Ohio State that would've made the CFP?
