I agree and might add, 'we' are buying it. So, the real question is: why are 'we' buying it? IMO it's that a growing majority no longer demand quality products. Trivia: what company said "The quality goes in before the name goes on!"? I ask because growing up my father was instrumental in delivering quality products to this company and never once looked at or tolerated cutting corners. This is probably why I view the demise of quality. Oh there's still some good stuff out there, but look where the U.S. stood in producing these products and where they are now. If that's not solid proof, I don't know what is.

They said the “vote“ was by the medical advisors/reps of the schools. The actual deciders used that “vote” to guide their decision.
Bluff called out and they are folding like a paper tent. I'm still really surprised they have any intent of proceeding.

Great point, was this a lie? How did it end up in newspapers? WTF...?
If they do play, what will they do when one of their teams gets a cluster of COVID cases? Can't really postpone and claim player's interest since they had already postponed season once, can't play on or they are really open to health lawsuits. Either way, they are sitting bad as far as PR and legal status.
Notre Dame shutting down sports would be a big deal. Notre Dame was founded on the belief that athletic pursuits should be at the heart of higher education.
Notre Dame isn't shutting down sports. Positive cases were going to happen, especially the first couple of weeks as kids haven't seen their college friends for months and are bound to socialize immediately.

What do you disagree with in his post? He's literally saying bringing back students onto campus would cause what we're seeing. What the schools do about it is the question now.

The only thing that this would do is remove part of the population that lives in the student housing back home, which would then decrease risk of COVID.
Look at UNC for a prime example. Students are going home, football is continuing on.

His passive "I'm not qualified" to judge the science and then pushing toward the "get the games ing" approach is atrocious. Respect for him is gone.
You can look at the graph of positive cases from March until now and then look at the graph of hospitalizations and deaths. You'll see how even with much more positive cases in the July spike vs. the March/April spike, the deaths are simply not following in suit. Thus, the idea to sit and wait this thing out seems like it'd be much more catastrophic for society than trying to live with and manage the virus.
