Will the BIG10 Reverse Their Decision?

Honestly, I think it's both. You can't expect over 100 young adults to be responsible every hour of every day. Hell, you can't even expect older adults to do that either. But, if some break team protocols and get lucky, then you obviously won't have any positives.

A great system of protocols combined with discipline and some luck.

This very well could be the case but as I have said previously, the Big Ten and Pac 12 didn't solely make their decision to cancel based on the virus alone. There is a reason why there was a major disconnect between the commissioner, presidents, and the teams on the decision to cancel.

I love the Cubs and hate the Cards but it's highly unlikely the Cubs are that much more careful and responsible.

definitely has changed. With 24/7 coverage a lot of it is editorial or entertainment. But there is still excellent and VALUABLE reporting going on. Most people aren’t able to tell the difference.

In case you didn't know, Tom Rogan has rebooted The McLaughlin Group and has taken John McLaughlin's (God rest his saintly soul) role as moderator. Stalwarts Eleanor Clift, Clarence Page, and Patrick Buchanan are regulars and Rogan chooses a weekly guest (typically alternating conservative / liberal).

Advertisers.

When one understands that both news and entertainment media are dependent upon selling commercials and delivering healthy profit margins to stockholders, everything becomes clear. We hear it, see it and read it because it's being brought to you by advertisers.

Media companies chase ratings and ratings mean dollars and that is what I wish people would take time to understand. Look at and consider the companies buying the space between content/entertainment segments.

Whether you are the Wall Street Journal or the National Enquirer, the formula is the same. Make no mistake.

It was one group of guys doing something stupid, or at least that's the rumor. Then it spreads and it takes that long to get everyone over it. I don't see why its that hard to believe. Besides the Marlins I don't think any other team has struggled with this like the Cards have.

I don't think it's hard to believe.

I mean the Cubs are getting all this praise, but I'm sure their guys have behaved similarly and just gotten lucky.
 
I felt there was momentum for the big 10 to at least begin to reverse course over the weekend with the public petition, parents letters and with the news of ADs not knowing the votes from their Presidents, but now with UNC going virtual and with all the stories about back to school craze and rise in cases and lack of social distancing/masks, that momentum seems thwarted.

Perhaps they've been in discussions with the conference heads for those that are attempting the season to see what their plans are, and are finding some new pathways.
