Iowa Football Recruiting

You guys obviously just want to label Iowa racist and don't really care to have a conversation about it. So I will just do what 99% of the posters on this site do; Maybe the reason ISU's recruiting class is so poor is because the student body at ISU hates minorities?
Iowa State has more African Americans in the 2021 recruiting class than Iowa does...

Good luck in your search for the Loch Ness monster. It exist, the truth is out there and you will find that evidence.

Wow. So all the players that came forward and said Iowa's football program had racism issues were liars?
Is it racism or is it ignorance? They want change but they aren't calling Kirk racist. You are. Was Doyle targeting all black players because of their skin color or was he targeting specific athletes for another reason? Was he equally as hard on some white players? Did all black players have negative experiences with Doyle or was it just some? Did some white players have negative experiences working with Doyle? There's no doubt he said things that are insensitive and made players uncomfortable but I think the investigation will find that he was just a jerk to a lot of players and it wasn't isolated to certain players because of the color of their skin.

I never knew how racist the entire Iowa State campus was, yikes..........
The Iowa state campus isn’t racist but it’s no secret that a large amount of black athletes don’t necessarily feel comfortable here. I mean if you look at the graduation rate of black athletes at Iowa State it was something like 44% which is crazy low. It’s not an Iowa State problem but rather a state of Iowa problem.

Shh. Troll no care about that. Troll wants to troll.
These types of Iowa fans are the ones I was alluding to. I understand that they are idiots and don't represent the entire fanbase but holy cow, they're certainly being more vocal than the Iowa fans that are level headed.

And to those that are claiming "you just want Iowa to suck".. Get over yourself. The program you cheer for allowed uncontrolled coaches to behave however they wanted towards their players. It wasn't just racially insensitive language. It was bullying a kid with a learning disorder. It was putting kids into the hospital with a workout and receiving an award. It was the coaches son being able to yell homophobic slurs towards a referee without any sort of consequence.

The alleged racism/ racially insensitive language / unfair treatment based on race is not the only thing that has been happening in the program, even if it is the most grotesque. The culture itself is bad and has been called out by players of your university. Iowa State fans didn't make these allegations up. Nebraska fans didn't make these allegations up. The players that have put on the black and gold, the players that you cheered for, came out in unity and spoke against Kirk Ferentz and the program he runs.

It will be nice when the investigation is done. Nothing will be found but at least we'll get a new topic to talk about.

Two questions:
1-You really believe this?
2-Will you believe the report findings?

Being ignorant towards racism can be seen as racism, especially when those being ridiculed are minorities. What you are currently doing is trying to justify Coach Doyle for being a jerk. You don't fire the highest paid S&E coach for being a jerk. There have been white players that have literally come out and said they've seen the differences in treatment between white and minority players.

That's quite the allegation even for someone like you
What accusation? I’m not saying there’s racism on the campus. What I’m saying is it can be a culture shock for a black athlete to go to an Iowa university which is majority white. That could cause a person to feel out of place and that they don’t feel like they belong. I’m in no way even comparing this to Iowa who perpetuated systemic racism for 20+ years.

You literally just said in referencing Iowa State that "it's no secret that a large amount of black athletes don’t necessarily feel comfortable here."

That is the first I'm ever hearing that and quite a bit different than your backtrack of "it can be a culture shock".

This is a University of Iowa problem. It has absolutely nothing to do with our football program. Go away troll.
