Kirk Ferentz getting sued for being racist

This is untrue.

Edit: yes the majority have said that, but not all.
At the end of the day, Kirk's fate is not decided by the opinions of his current or his former players. It will be decided by what the investigation finds and then Barta and possibly other's decision based off of those findings.

When other scandals have happened at other Universities, the players unanimously were in favor of keeping the head coach. Joe Paterno, Urban Meyer, Art Briles, Rick Patino. Those coaches were loved by their players, however they weren't the decision maker in determining whether they would get to keep their job or not. It came down to the school president, the BOR, and the AD in making those decisions.

What else could they do?

Well, KF could start by apologizing for starters, but I guess that’s asking too much, huh?

Even when asked if he should apologize, KF said “nope”.

So yeah, I don’t believe a word KF says about any of this if he can’t apologize.

Oh.... and he still believes the players should have come to him first too. He hasn’t learned a single thing from all this IMO.
Why because he didn't say the actual words "I'm sorry"? He acknowledged that he let the players down. There is no possible action Ferentz could take that would satisfy you.

Coming out and lying about having zero awareness to racial issues within his program probably doesn't help Kirk out in the public eye of things, especially when there were 60+ players who have admitted racial issues have been prevalent within the Iowa Football culture.

Urban Meyer's situation is the only one of those remotely comparable to what we are talking about here. Even there, he was hiding and lied about actual criminal behavior by one of his coaches.

Did he lie or how much did he actually know? I'm honestly curious because I think you are taking the path that Kirk Ferentz is guilty until proven innocent. I don't know why the players are so willing to forgive and move forward if he was deeply involved in all of this.

In this specific case, if the investigation finds discrimination on the basis of race, there will be legality issues.

Within the court of law, Kirk is innocent until proven guilty. When you're being investigated and evidence supports wrongdoing, you make perceptions. The public perception outside of the bubble of Iowa City is that Kirk Ferentz is to be blame for a lot of these issues.

As long as Kirk wins, racism is okay.
I'm ok with Kirk and Brian being shown the door. Kirk's done within a few years anyway more than likely and I don't want Brian as a head coach just based on his coaching ability, let alone the accusations against him.

If Kirk and Brian survive this situation, I think any chance of Brian becoming head coach is long gone.

Go ahead Triangle and keep explaining away anyone who believes Kirk may be culpable for some of this. I am not saying he is or isn't but saying everyone says he can lead the change is disingenuous as there are some people that have been associated with the program that do not feel this way.

I agree, but man, the social media presence of hawk fans living in high levels of denial is truly disturbing.

What's your solution or what would you do differently? They forced Doyle out because he was the main culprit in all of this. All players, past and present, that have spoken out have said Kirk Ferentz is capable of leading this program through the changes that need to happen. If they didn't truly believe that, why wouldn't past players be honest? What do they have to lose by saying Kirk has to go. I think the answer here is that no matter what path Iowa takes forward, you are going to be critical because, well, it's Iowa.

Its not that past players aren't being honest. They are not in a position to evaluate/oversee the program. That is not their responsibility. I would hope/expect that past players would support and root for their coach.

Of course we are going to poke fun at Iowa just as hoks will for any challenges we have.

This is way beyond a challenge and fun poking. This is a state level issue facing a state institution and young people. A bit more than bragging rights at stake on this pissing match.

Frankly, UofIowa Pres should have stepped in immediately, directed an individual that would bring credibility to oversee this. Instead its the same ole good ole' boy "Well, I didn't do anything wrong, did you do anything wrong? Nope, I didn't do anything wrong. Well somebody must of done something wrong. Must of been Doyle, cuz it aint' you and ian't me."

He was asked if he would apologize.... and he said "no".

It's obvious he thinks he did nothing wrong at all.

All players have? That's not true
