Kirk Ferentz getting sued for being racist

Jesus dude that's not an isolated incident. In so many of these allegations he was brought up as one of the main constituents. You obviously want to break each one down and take each at face value in order to downplay his overall play in this whole thing.

And YOU are the one taking these statements at face value. To my knowledge, the only specific instances I have seen Brian accused of are (1) the Wadley incident, and (2) calling a player’s tattoo dumb. (1) is racially insensitive at best, racist at worst, and is inappropriate either way. (2) is nothing. You are asserting as fact that Brian is one of the main issues here, despite there being little evidence to support that other than vague statements from former players.

The very guys coming forward are overwhelmingly saying KF can fix it and are not calling for him to be replaced.

You actually think its insulting for the players that are making the claims to think that KF can right the ship?

Yes, it is insulting. The players have no say in this nor should they. It is insulting to those who suffered at the hands of Doyle and the spawn while Kirk sat back and let it happen.

Lol the tattoo thing? Come on dude. He told a player his tattoo was stupid. If that’s one of the worst stories that’s out there, then he has nothing to worry about.

Listen, if Brian really is part of the problem, then he needs to go. But LOL at thinking calling a player’s tattoo stupid is some major indiscretion.
Why are you ignoring him saying he wished a player got injured?

Jaleel Johnson specifically stated "Coach Doyle is the problem in that building. And so is Brian Ferentz." So you're saying that Jaleel is wrong?

So you only believe them when they say there was racist injustice in the Iowa football program but dont believe they know enough about KF to say he can fix it?

Understood.

I get that you want to watch Iowa football burn but that is quite the double standard you got going on there.

So you think people who may not have actively participated but merely stood by and allowed (some say encouraged) improper actions should be retained and allowed to prove they have changed? Is that your stance for the three Minneapolis policeman who were fired along with the officer who actually committed the act? Send them to training and put them back on the street.

A lot of Iowa State basketball players didn't want Larry fired---it really didn't matter what they thoufhr and it really shouldn't matter what the Iowa players think

What matters is if Kirk knew this was going on with Doyle and Brian.

The Register already brought up that there are most likely going to be legal ramifications in all of this. They broke down almost every single scenario in all of this and each one had Iowa paying a heavy price.
Certainly more than Kirk's $5M a year salary. That and Iowa being mucked through the mud while legal (likely civil) actions are ongoing. I'm sure that will play well...

Alleged Systematic Racism aside for a moment

Let's not forget about the enormously large ADA and FERPA federal law violations with the student athlete that alleged multiple coaches, who new he had a learning disability, still frequently mocked him, even in front of other players.

A student-athlete that wanted nothing more in his life than to play Iowa football.

A student-athlete who was in an atmosphere that he felt too afraid to come forward and speak up.

A student-athlete that felt do trapped and boxed in from the mocking, he had to transfer

A student-athlete that at the first chance he felt empowered enough, spoke out.

-I know these are just allegations at the moment, but honestly, if true, those coaches probably really shouldn't be around like any kind of education environment.

So that’s it - Jaleel Johnson says that Brian is the problem, and that proves that Brian is responsible for most of the “disgusting stuff” going on at Iowa, and he needs to be fired? Is that your stance? Can we get an investigation? Can we get players to come forward sharing their stories about Brian’s misconduct, like they have for other coaches? Or are we supposed to just take their statements at face value and fire him?

So, you also want to rely on the statement's of current players? The same players that if Kirk and family is retained would benefit from making a positive statement? The same players that if they said anything negative would likely be pushed off the team if Kirk and family is retained. Shame on Iowa if they parade any of the players out there and put them in that position...your scholarship hangs in the balance here...think carefully about what you say.

Yeah, this allegation is getting lost, but it is the most important in my opinion. People are getting caught up in the "is it racist or not" argument, but in reality, ANY bullying and mocking of players in front of others is not okay. Especially when it is involving learning disabilities. I mean what kind of person does that? I guess meathead ********.

What are you talking about? If former players think Brian is the problem, there needs to be an investigation, or someone needs to come forth with stories as to why they think that is the case (as they have done with other coaches, namely Doyle). You can’t just fire a coach because a couple players make vague, conclusory statements that he is a problem. That’s not how any of this works.

What stories are you referring to about Doyle?
