Kirk Ferentz getting sued for being racist

DJK lasted about 3 months in the CFL before being cut. He was signed by the Barnstormers and was released in less than 2 months. He was resigned by Montreal in the CFL in June of 2012 and lasted less than 2 weeks before being released.

Is it that shocking that a guy that couldnt cut it in the CFL and Arena League and who was also kicked off his college team and expelled from school didnt get an NFL look?

The NFL, especially at that time, will take chances on guys with character issues as long as they can play. They arent going to take a chance on a guy that couldnt even play a game in the CFL or Arena League.
And he's the best WR in Iowa history???

Well he apparently raises a real ******* in Brian, who might also be a ******* racist. And not only did he raise him, he enabled him by giving him a job.

The KF is a saint line of thinking around this state is real annoying.
I like Murph and Andy a lot and generally feel they can discuss things pretty fairly but they are giving KF a total pass on this.

in before @Brodie0 reminds us that GarBar gave him the job.

Yes, I can agree with most of this. I think that what this all boils down to is this - Doyle (and to a lesser extent Brian) have said a few racist/racially insensitive things, the coaches in general bully the players and are really tough on them, and the strictness of the program make it such that black athletes don’t feel comfortable to be themselves when around the coaches.

All of that stuff is very bad, and needs to be fixed immediately. However, the vast majority of players have said they don’t want anyone fired, they just want things to change. Ferentz is still running the program like he did 20 years ago, and today’s players are making it known that they aren’t okay with that anymore. Some of the posters on here are making it seem like Iowa’s coaches are virulent racists, which is beyond ridiculous.

Players weren't OK with it then. They just weren't empowered to do anything about it until recently. Just because you got away with being a racist before, doesn't make it OK.

They talked about it for a while, but it was mainly a KF luv fest. Talked a lot about how they know him, he's a great guy, horrible if his legacy ended this way, national media doesn't know him, blah blah blah...
I listened to the first 40 minutes on Monday until I couldn’t take it any longer. Their basic stance was you can’t force people to change by firing them.

That might literally be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. They wouldn't have changed if these young men and a few of their parents wouldn't have stepped forward.

Just my own theory, but I wonder if they had a lawyer advise them to keep it private, and then wait to make it public only after the lawyers reviewed it for any "unhelpful" content. I get the impression they are planning this carefully instead of rushing into it like Leeroy Jenkins.
It's also possible she has all her stuff set to Friends Only and didn't think to make it public before starting. I do that a lot when posting memes from friends to groups. She should be able to make it public afterwards.

So in real life (e.g. business) this is the very definition of a "hostile work environment", and when management allows it to exist/continue, it is justification for lawsuits and damages.

Your closing sentence is correct, but it's years too late now. This was a NOT fixed immediately, it was at least tolerated if not outright supported. Which is probably the most damning thing for KF - that's 100% on him.

Murph just did a quick 10 second thing on Dillon Doyle transferring. Sears is probably in hiding also as he is a very big hawk supporter.
