Kirk Ferentz getting sued for being racist

If Doyle was doing racist **** and being that vocal about his hatred of Obama in the locker room, I can't imagine what the last three and a half years have been like for those players.

A handful of players have said Brian is a problem without giving any specifics as to why they feel that way. If further information comes out showing that Brian has a pattern of abusive and racist behavior, then he needs to go.
Abusive behavior has already been documented, involving game officials, metacarpal bones, etc.

It troubled me when KF said that he wished these players would have come to him first before posting on social media. That's how he's handled everything at Iowa all these years. He's always handed out his own punishment behind the scenes when players got in trouble instead of having law enforcement get involved for just one example.

Then he didn't allow his players to have free speech and post on social media. Also always had rules with VERBAL commits that if they visited another school, he would take their offer away. And the list goes on and on and on.

.

Are you sure you're JUST talking about KF here? Pretty sure CMC has done the exact same more than once?

All the other hokroaches have fled and you are still here defending.

Who and what am I defending? I have been clear on my stance that any coach with a pattern of racist behavior needs to be fired. I’m not going to call for the entire coaching staff to be fired when the vast majority of complaints have been lodged against one individual. Yes, the culture of the program needs to be fixed, and I have confidence that Kirk and the rest of his staff will do so.

That's very big of you.

Only said that in response to someone claiming I thought the vandalism was worse than 400 years of racism.

I also know that the last couple weeks have made me think further at any unconscious bias I may have and how that could affect people. this is a time we can all listen and further commit to being better.

I've seen complaints against Doyle, Kirk, Brian and Parker so far. This isn't one individual

Why you avoiding if Brian was aware?

For 20 years someone has been in charge of setting the culture.

It has been rumored for years that any media person that crossed the line and wrote too many unflattering articles about EIU would see their access to the program diminished.
I tend to think that forced the reporters to play ball as a way to get access to the players and coaches so they could do their job. Without that access they would be fired from their job. So some were forced to go along with the propaganda that EIU was laying out there to be able to continue to do their job.

Miller used to talk about it from time to time on his podcasts, when he was called in and read the riot act by a former MBB coach at EIU for the way he handled a players rape case.
If you want to cover EIU from the press row, you will play ball or that access will be made a lot more difficult.

Kxno guys have said the U of I wouldnt allow Bobby Hanson on the show once because it followed a loss.

Iowa has a culture of "you are lucky to be here" and while that isnt explicitly racist, you can see how that could foster a racist environment.

Why you avoiding if Brian was aware?

Because it depends on a number of factors- if he was aware of the specifics or only vague accusations, if he took any action with respect to those accusations, etc. If Brian was aware that Doyle was making racist comments to players and did nothing to stop him, then I would have no issue with him being fired.

Former players want Brian gone

The incident I read involved a player wearing a tank top into the facility and BF criticized his tats as not being "the Iowa way".

Every coach has to have some control in their program. It's a matter of how far you take it?

I've said... if a whole bunch of black players come forward saying these same things about CMC.... then CMC might have to go as well.

Good for Marcel for voicing his opinion and displeasure. I don’t know how much clearer I can get with my opinion on this subject for you.
I guess I don't understand why you want Doyle fired but are in wait and see mode with Brian when he is obviously part of the problem too
