Iowa Football Recruiting

I didn't say they didn't have a shot either. JFC man how are you not following this. You asked what players ISU was in on that were "any good" as you put it. So i gave you a list of players that ISU was in on. Pretty simple. You think Iowa is going to land every single player they are in on or whom they have been in a kids Top 5?
No. I was told that you guys were going to get some big time recruits and your average was going to be similar to Iowa's:

That sparked the question - who are you guys going to get that's any good. You responded with:

Players I feel that ISU is likely to has a great chance of landing.

Mitchell Evans (TE)
Jaylin Noel (WR)
Aden Kelley (DT)

Players who I think they will be in the running for until the end:
TJ Bollers (DE)
Micah Pettus (OL)
Kyree Young (RB)
Marcus Mbow (OL)

Looks like you're out on Kelley, Pettus, Mbow and Young. Guessing CMC will drop the ball with Bollers and Evans and possibly get Noel... So back to my original point. This class is a big old turd for CMC. Twedt broke him!

It's certainly interesting how an Iowa fan is happy we landed a good player and wants Iowa State to be better. Don't get me wrong, I would love Fran to be Iowa's coach for a long time but I certainly don't want the guy to land good players and succeed.

JCL is a grad transfer, he can't help ISU past this year, he can only help for this year. If it gets ISU to the bubble and keeps Prohm as head coach, that is a good thing for an Iowa fan.

He only plays one year but if next year is a good one for Iowa State, he's definitely helping Iowa State out for the future. The better the team does, the better Prohm can recruit as well as show Iowa State can be a good landing spot for GT's.

Even with Lands, I still think ISU lost more than they gained. Losing Haliburton was a big blow no matter what and I still don't think ISU is a tournament team. Probably a 15-17 win type of team.

Exactly. Look at what Iowa did vs USC. They scored TD's the first 5 times they had the ball. After that they just use defense and run the clock to win. Then you look at the box score and USC has more total yards, but Iowa destroyed them in every manner imaginable. That is KF football, and like you said, KF has done that for 20 years, that aint a changing.
Congrats on doing that with an entire month to prepare for the 78th ranked defense.

You think Iowa State would have had a winning record if Haliburton doesn't get hurt?

Without a doubt losing Halliburton is a tremendous loss, however most ISU fans have the thought that losing Jacobson and Nixon will end up being addition by subtraction. The team next year is going to look completely different than it did last year. We will essentially have a brand new roster. I'm hopeful we'll be a tournament team but you really never know.

Yeah it is scheme related. Iowa is gonna use ball control and defense to win 27-24 rather than using a wide open offensive scheme hoping to win game 42-41.

But generally last year Iowa struggle to score 27 points.

ISU 18
Mich. 3
Penn St. 12
NW 20
Wis. 22
Minn. 23
Ill. 19
Neb 27
Purdue 26.

The outliers was the USC game, most points all year at 49 and the cupcakes 38 & 48 along with Rutgers 30.
When the Iowa offense is running the ball well, it can be an efficient offense, but for years now, it has been anything but.
They rely on defense and not turning the ball over. I am really not sure just how well that would work in the Big 12 where teams are going to score points.

You think this class is good?
Whiffed on a ton of top targets.
Reaches - Ralph, Mendenszoon, Sauser, Marshall, Wright. Rest of the class isn't bad. But mainly just filler guys. Nothing really stands out.

Mendenszoon is going to be a good one. I like Marshall too. How is Wright a reach?

So you answer twins question when I asked the same thing before him. You are only here to engage with him.
