Iowa Football Recruiting

I think anyone with a brain would say they have a better program ATM. If you don't think so you should be institutionalized. However rome wasn't built in a day so give CMC some time and we'll be there.

I've never said we won't get there with CMC. I think we have a decent shot if CMC sticks around long enough.

I just can't stand people talking s**t to Iowa fans about how we're better than they are because we play a tougher schedule.... or that our recruiting is better than theirs when by every account it's not, etc.

I think we can get there, but we aren't there yet. Iowa's recruiting class so far is really good (on paper), and ours is just decent. That's not to say ours won't end up being the better class after 4 years, we'll see on that, but right now they aren't that comparable.

That is very true

Whatever.

Iowa would have won more conference games than we did if they played our Big 12 schedule last year IMO, so it doesn't really matter. I know that's just my opinion.

I just don't like always playing the "what if" game. If we want to talk s**t, just beat their a** for once! I'm tired of the excuses!

Yeah but.... "what if" our schedule wasn't tougher than theirs?..... or "what if" we didn't always start slow?... or "what if" if wasn't Iowa's Super Bowl?..... or "what if" CMC didn't play so conservatively?..... or "what if" the refs didn't always screw us over?.... etc, etc, etc.

Tired of that BS nonsense. Just win. I don't think CMC accepts any excuses.... and neither should we.

You aren't finding any disagreement on that over here.

Unfortunately bad things happen to both fanbases and bands at both places. It shouldn't be that way, but that's our society today.

But Barta handles those situations a LOT differently than JP does. Barta is in over his head and is an amateur.

As far as drunks go, it’s a little different in tha most of the areas around kinnick are not university property, at least where drunken students go.

Currently isu has the worst streak ever. isu is the only P5 school to never win an outright conference championship in football.

This is almost as pathetic as giving up your children, Jeff. Not really, but this is really dumb.

are you saying that the 20 consecutive losing seasons didn’t happen?

Holy **** Jeff, I just saw that you gave yourself a rating.

That’s incredibly pathetic. But when you have set the bar at being a deadbeat dad like you have, there really isn’t a low that you won’t stoop to.

way to show Iowa State fans how they act though. Jesus.

I fully support the idea of giving second chances in most cases. But the idea is that you are especially stringent giving them because you put your credibility on the line. Now I am just finding out that Fran did that only to have the guy get kicked off the team before they got his last name screened on his Hawk jersey. That is an absolute disaster. All I have heard about Young since he has been on campus is that he got a 3.5 GPA this year. You see the difference there?

I see no difference at all. Both took a chance on a guy. I'm sure if Young wouldn't have towed the line, he would have been gone as well. Fran took a chance and the guy couldn't comply with simple easy rules. Iowa cut bait before he made more bad decisions that could have impacted others. Smart move by Iowa in that case.

I mean I at least hope that Young hans't made mistakes and CMC just keep giving him more rope. That is the worse case scenerio of all, you don't make them adhere to the rules. I'm sure the isn't the case with Young and CMC though.

Is every Hawk fan named Jeff? Are you saying isu has won an outright conference title in football? That would be news.

This is a terrible comparison. Hubbard spent 4 years in prison

Busting a myth. Here is just the SOS of conference games played.

https://www.teamrankings.com/college-football/ranking/in-conference-sos-by-other

Wisconsin #4
Iowa #11
Northwestern #18
Nebraska #19
Finally the first Big12 team clocks in at #20 and that is OU
Baylor #24
Texas #25
Minnesota #27
ISU #28

So as you can see the Big10 West was clearly tougher last year with 4 schools having a conference SOS tougher than the toughest big12 schedule. Also pretty ironic that Twins calls Minnesota's schedule easy, yet it's conference slate was tougher than ISU's.

Looking back was interesting as well. 3 out of the last 5 years Iowa had the tougher conference SOS. This whole myth about the Big10 West is just that a myth. Iowa has a tougher conference SOS the majority of the time over the last 5 years.
