Iowa Football Recruiting

well the Hawks system has proven to develop talent like his so I'm glad we have him. I know Fleck really wanted him. He seems to be doing quite well.
link?

Also, a 4 star with three P5 offers? One being his home state team and another that offers anyone that can buckle a chinstrap. HIGHLY TOUTED guy right there....

just read it. he also says that he projects as a productive player at a high major college. I think that's what we're looking for.
"Athleticism should allow him to be a productive college player at the high-major level"

Allow and Projects have two different meanings.

Read Allen Trieu Analysis. He doesn't know where he fits.

I think he could be good as a 4-3 MLB. You key on RBs the majority of the time so you almost never have to cover outside of zone. He could be successful in a James Morris/Dat Nyguen mold.

He doesn't fit our defense, nor does he really fit any P5 defense.

He's clunky and he doesn't really have a position. I think he's 6' at best and his whole tape is him playing the edge.

Can he cover passes? who knows.

Him being a 4 star is laughable. He's a explosive, physical kid, but he doesn't really fit anywhere for a P5 team.

I didn't realize he was so short

Like who?

Fleck sucks by the way
not a serious question is it? Fleck > Campbell at this point. On the field and recruiting wise both. For the record I personally like Campbell a great deal more than Fleck. Fleck is an abrasive egomaniac imo.

It’s weird how offers and rankings don’t matter when it comes to Iowa State recruits, but when it comes to Iowa’s recruits, a lack of offers shows that a player really isn’t that good.

I hope Fleck moves on from Minnesota sooner rather than later.

This is a weird comment as pretty much everyone here agrees that offers matter more than their stars in terms of judging if the player is worth their star rating

I understand how it can be contradictory.

Myles Mendeszoon (ISU commit) barely has any offers. I like him and I think think he has pretty good potential to be a solid player. However, it's different because he was unrated.

An unrated guy versus a 4 star guy.

You best believe coaches skim through the top recruiting boards to see the movers and shakers to see if they can snag a guy.

You aren't the first hawk fan to say that. Ya'll just want to make sure your path to second place in one of the easiest divisions in college football is as easy as possible, we get it

Sullivan has 3 P5 offers. How many of your current recruits have less than that? I'm not arguing one matters more or the other. But saying Sullivan isn't a P5 level recruit is silly.

Not really. If a kid has good offers the standard fallback here is to say they weren't committable. You know that.
