I still agree. He is a great coach. He will have Iowa State playing at a high level for a very long time. It should be a fantastic rivalry for years to come.
Curious what’s your prediction as to when “playing at a high level” will begin?

still waiting for any evidence of a hold on that play from any hawk fan here.. yet some how the refs missed the major actual hold on Iowa's 3rd and 22 conversion that led to a FG.It's stupid because you play in the Big 10 West and get many games off. Whereas we have to battle week in and week out. If we played your schedule, we'd win 10 games too, or maybe 9 because we did get unlucky against you I guess. Fake holding call and other missed calls saved the day for you.
still waiting for any evidence that Iowa could keep up with Big 12 offenses..There has yet to be a clone fan be able to show an objective poll or power ranking that says isu would have been any different playing Iowa’s schedule last year. isu lost to Iowa and would have lost to Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin, Minnesota and USC. yep isu is 7-6 with Iowa’s schedule.
Now if you can give me a link from an objective site that says isu would have won 9 or 10 games I will scream from the mountain tops isu is awesome with Iowa’s schedule. The kicker is it actually has to be an objective link not just you and other clone fans saying so.
Good luck,
Link?
I mean Nebraska (10' 10-4, 11' 9-4, 12' 10-4) held the same record pretty much for the first few years after their switch to the Big 10. it wasn't till after their big 10 classes were the main starters were big 10 recruits, that they had worse records... same goes for TA&M (11' 7-6, 12' 11-2, 13' 9-4) and Missouri (11' 8-5, 12' 5-7, 13' 12-2) in the switch to the SEC for them. Predominantly Big 12 recruited classes and they hold their own in the SEC but become average at best with the SEC recruited classes after that..Show me a link where Iowa would have done better than 7-6 with ISU’s schedule
always funny when Iowa fans move the goal posts after the fact...It's always funny when people "Disagree" with facts that are just true.
pretty easy to have a top 30 defense when you play against teams in the bottom 60 of offense...Since you're good now with using total defense, did Iowa have a good total offense in 2019?
Its not even bottom 60. The B1G West champs came into last year and laid down one of the worst offenses the P5 conferences has ever seen.pretty easy to have a top 30 defense when you play against teams in the bottom 60 of offense...

a vast majority of the big 10 didn't..Iowa did not have a good total offense in 2019. Did I ever say that they did?
and needed help from the Big 10 officiating crew and some luck to bounce their way.... for a 1pt win....Well they only played against one, and...

I wonder if the Big Ten total defense is considered good because the total offenses are as such:
#4-Ohio St.
#38- Wisconsin
#41- Indiana
#42- Minnesota
#55- Nebraska
#57- Penn St.
#68- Michigan
#75- Purdue
#95- Michigan St.
#99- Iowa
#109- Maryland
#115- Illinois
#124- NW
#129- Rutgers
....that couldn’t be it.
But honestly it’s probably somewhere in the middle, much like the Big 12.
see above....Yeah but 7 of Iowa's 13 opponents last year had scoring offenses ranked 44th or better.
see above....
total offense = total yards + Scoring + YPP + etc... you know stuff like you take the ball at your own 20 vs the opponents 40 and kick a FG at the 25...So you think total offense is a more telling ranking than scoring offense? Weird.

I see games played.. plays.. total yards.. yards per play... offensive TDs... YPG... you know stuff that will take into account what I have said before. of actually driving the field and scoring a TD vs taking over at mid field and kicking a FG.... easy to score if teams are giving the ball up at the 40s and only getting to the 25-30 and kicking a FG...Those total offense rankings you quoted are total yards averaged per game. That's it.
See for yourself.
So you think the potency of an offense is better measured by how many yards they gain instead of how many points they score. Like I said, weird.

again takes into account getting the ball at your opponents mid field vs having to drive the field for a TD... Iowa only scored 33 TDs on the season... mean while we had 51 and TT for that matter had 44....Yeah, so look all the way to the right where it lists Yards Per Game. That's the only stat that determines where you rank in Total Offense. Hell Texas Tech ranked 11th in Total Offense (YPG) and wasn't even in the top 50 for Scoring Offense. You really think they were the 11th best offense in the country? That list of B1G offenses you quoted just showed where they ranked in Yards Per Game. Like I said, 7 of Iowa's opponents ranked 44th or better in Scoring Offense. If you care more about gaining yards on offense than scoring, please put me on your schedule.

so 4 conference opponents, one rivalry game, and a bowl game where the starting QB got hurt... those same games Iowa scored 18, 12, 3, 23, 22, and 49 (bowl game). your season average was 25 by the way... our average was brought up by the ULM game as well..Yeah ISU averaged 32 ppg, and got 17 against Iowa. Penn St. averaged 36 ppg, and got 17 against Iowa. Minnesota averaged 34, and got 19 against Iowa. Wisconsin averaged 34, and got 24 against Iowa. USC averaged 33, and got 24 against Iowa. Michigan averaged 32, and got 10 against Iowa.
That was kind of the point. You were trying to say that Iowa's defense only looked good because it went up against terrible offenses. Nearly half the offenses we played were in the top 44 of scoring points per game, and for the most part our D shut them down.
