Iowa Football Recruiting

I think Iowa State will have a tougher SOS this upcoming year actually. Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas will be all be ranked for sure going into this season. Baylor might be too. Kansas State and TCU probably receiving votes
I respectfully disagree. I think they will be very comparable. But yes Oklahoma will be tough as always, OSU will have the best RB/WR in the country, but I don't think Texas will be anything special. Baylor lost a TON of people along with their head coach. I believe they return to dumpster fire status and I hope they stay there. TCU should be better, Kstate i think/hope is just above Baylor

Not true on the skill players. Even if it were, it wouldn't matter when your OL and coaching stink!
First, if you think our coaches "stink", it is impossible to debate you. You are blinded by your fandom. I think most people admit that both staffs are at least good.

Second, let's make a list of the Top 10 skill players between the teams (I would put Jirehl Brock 6 from what I've seen in practice, but that is cheating):

1. Brock Purdy
2. Breece Hall
3. Charlie Kolar
4. Tyler Goodson (that's being kind)
5. Tarique Milton
6. Sean Shaw
7. Chase Allen
8. Ihmir Smith-Marsette
9. Dylan Soenher
10. Joe "Tha Baby" Scates

A lot of ISU guys on there (8 to 2). I think Scates could be the best receiver if he wants to be...

I could have added 5 more ISU players, but those guys I've only seen in practice. ISU is loaded.

Key word is "realistic". I think the ceiling for the Hawks will be 8 wins this year. The early departures and a new starting QB are not ideal for that schedule. Can't control the schedule and at least the BIG 10 is playing 9 conf games. The ACC and SEC are who should be getting dumped on for the 8 game schedules. Hawks have been locked in with Penn St every year and most years will get either Mich or OSU.
Agree on the ACC and SEC comment. My only complainant with BIG10/Iowa is you don't have to play the best team in your league but once every 3 years. While Michigan is good, they aren't a shadow of what they used to be and is a very beatable team year in and year out.

Baylor returns Brewer. They will be good unfortunately

Cue the who is Dylan Soehner comments

Honest question for Iowa fans. Who do you think will be better this upcoming season. Iowa or Iowa State?

Gotta answer some questions for me. As it pertains to Iowa can I factor in the following?

1) Count close losses as wins if there is a call in the game that I don't agree with?
2) Add extra wins saying a player was injured even though he played in all the games?
3) Can I quote SOS cherry picking the one that fits my needs best to argue that less wins is actually more wins because of this?

Thanks in advance for the answers. I can then tell you who will be better

You aren’t going off of recruiting rankings.

So 8-8-7

Kirk has had runs in wins of 7-6-6, and another of 8-7-4-8-7

Did you consider that stagnant at the time?

Yes, that was the very definition of stagnation. Heck Jon Miller was calling for Ferentz head after the '14 season after 5 years of of 8 or less wins.

Go tell with Stewart Mandel how stupid he is for having Minnesota ranked higher than isu.
Hanging your hat on one persons opinion, good to know. Minnesota will maybe be a top 25 team if they are lucky by the end of the season

1) if you want to, that would be dumb though
2) no player should be out there is they're injured
3) don't care. Sagarin is the only respected SOS out there

Brandon Smith > Shaw, Scates.

I think OSU might win the B12 this year.
