Iowa Football Recruiting

I mean we just had 3 TEs that got All Conference recognition, one of them being an All American

Other schools who have both have multiple conference DE's and TE's, and who actually see the kids move onto the NFL and make millions see a DE in Llewellyn. Good thing he and his HS coach sat down and talked about it and see that he obviously has a higher ceiling at DE. Sure maybe he could be an All conference TE in the Big12 (who couldn't really), but for a career in the NFL he needs to be at DE in the Big10, obvious choice here.

That's quite the statement

Just putting it as he sees it. I mean in premium article he said that he knows he needs to be on the defensive side and one of his statements was pretty bold actually about how good he could be. I like confident kids!

Schools with a real tradition at TE wouldn’t define success the way CyTwins does.
It's certainly an accomplishment, just wouldn't compare our recent succuss with Iowa's at the position. Iowa and Stanford both have an argument for TE-U

Agreed.

Penn State has also had several really good TE’s lately. It will be interesting to see if isu moves to more of a TE focused offense. I have thought for a while that if they go away from the spread with 4 WR to one with more TE and even a fullback they would pose prep issues for other teams in the Big 12 that don’t see that on a week to week basis. This would also help you when wind or other weather is a factor.

I think CMC has been doing this already. I think it is super smart that CMC is copying the Ferentz playbook.

This isn't scientific in any way shape or form obviously, but my feeling is that CMC's recruiting of skill position players would get a rating of 7.5 out of 10, and KF's would be a 6 out of 10.

The biggest issue for CMC is that the OL/DL recruiting for him has been about a 5.5 out of 10 and KF's probably an 8 out of 10.

And the overall success of your football team starts and ends with being good in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Your skill position players are of little value without a good OL and DL.

Until CMC can build really good OL's and DL's, ISU won't win more than 5-7 games a year IMO. Purdy, Hall, Brock, and the WR's can all be made to look VERY average without blocking and pass protection.

KF has always known that is where football games are won at. Being able to run the ball, and stop the run have always been the key, and always will be no matter how "fancy" offenses become.

I simply can't believe that more ISU fans aren't upset that they are getting destroyed on the recruiting trail by their only rival.
Unlike you little brothers, we don’t compare our recruiting success on if we won a recruit against the Iowa Hawkeyes. The staff finds kids they want then go after them. Obviously it’s nice to compete for the top 3 or 5 in your state on a yearly basis, but after that the talent in Iowa by in large has run dry

You didn't get Bruce, he isn't even an in state kid. You won't get Keegan Johnson, same thing. You offered Stephens and Davidkov and Oladokun, who are all out of state kids that weren't Hawk fans.
So according to you, because Iowa state offered at one time, that means that Iowa state really wanted them BUT if the situation is reversed then the Hawks never wanted them right? Got it
