Iowa Football Recruiting

Scary territory for Campbell, we will look back on all these misses for Campbell in 3 years when the results are coming through on the field. By that time KF is likely retiring on a high note with this strong recruiting class. Hate to be that guy, but this is brutal for Campbell and his staff.

This seems awfully dramatic especially since it's been known for a while he was going to Iowa lol

Its moreso the combination of missing of every target in the state going head-to-head with Iowa, they are getting their ass handed to them.

Where would you rank him then? Top 5?

I don't know all the other QB's that will be draft eligible. If he is #3, that would be an incredibly down year for QB's though.

I mean I know that according to QBR rating Morgan, Coan, Ramsey, Clifford from the Big10 Trask, Ehlinger, Book, and many others are better than Purdy.

I think Campbell leaves if he keeps missing out on top talent. Still need horses in the stable.

I'm talking overall in CFB not just draft eligible. Where would you have him? Top 5? Top 10?

I simply can't believe that more ISU fans aren't upset that they are getting destroyed on the recruiting trail by their only rival.

What head to head should we have won? Llewellyn probably? Brecht is a big Hawkeye fan, we didn't want Twedt, etc

You didn't get Bruce, he isn't even an in state kid. You won't get Keegan Johnson, same thing. You offered Stephens and Davidkov and Oladokun, who are all out of state kids that weren't Hawk fans.

I don't subscribe to the theory you have to win in-state recruiting battles. However, losing the in-state battles, and then pulling prospects that leave a bit to be desired in terms of their offer lists, is not a good sign.

I do think not being able to get kids on campus is hurting. Iowa undoubtedly has more to sell on paper than Iowa State. I think we have to rely on getting them on campus and having Campbell sell them on the vision. That's harder to do when they can't get to campus.

In any event, I trust Campbell.

I was literally talking about in state kids

So really as long as he finishes as a top 20 QB you'll be impressed and think he drastically improved?

Clutch is a stat that is measured by my eye test. Yes if he can improve there, then his inflated Big12 stats would mean more.
