Both Ferentz and CMC inherited 3 win teams.
CMC got ISU to respectability faster than Ferentz did. CMC at ISU will never achieve the heights that Ferentz reached though (at least not nearly as often). 5 top 10 finishes, 2 conference championships, a championship game appearance, and 3 BCS bowl game. He could maybe achieve these things at another school, but not at ISU. Don't get me wrong, CMC is a very good coach, and will continue to do well at ISU, just not BCS game/Conference title game appearance/Top 10 team good.
Kirk Ferentz replaced the best coach in Iowa football history and as another poster pointed out had quite a bit of NFL talent on the roster. Matt Campbell replaced Paul Rhoads. Lol cmon
Ya CMC has to play a real schedule every year, not the cake walk Kurt has in the Big Ten west.
Campbell will be able to accomplish all of these at ISU and possibly more. and you'r co-conference Championships are kind of a joke since you didn't play Ohio state the first year and then lost to Michigan the other. Then we all know the fake ID season.
so what are you saying will be Campbells limit here? we have ended up 3rd or tied for 3rd the last 2 seasons in the conference with a legit shot at 1st or 2nd each of those seasons if things had bounced a little differently. The national expectations keep rising for ISU with Campbell at the helm. Meanwhile everyone knows what Iowa is for the last 20+years, where you might have a lucky year or two with a soft Big10 schedule, but other wise hit the average of 7.5 wins a year for Ferentz over his career.
I don't really know. He definitely has your program in a better spot than it was, can't argue that. You're crapping on the Hawks/KF accomplishments when most level headed clone fans would be ecstatic to accomplish half of what he has. I have no idea how long you'll have Campbell for but its pretty unlikely he's there for 20 years.
Evashevski is the greatest Iowa coach of all time. He won two rose bowls and a national title.

I'm aware of that. Hearing Iowa is the current leader. Believe what you want. Not saying it's a done deal or anything but most thought it was a done deal to Nebraska it's definitely not. Let's just say that George Kittle is a pretty good recruiting tool for the Hawks at this point.
