Iowa Football Recruiting

Kirk's 4th draft class looked like this.

Dallas Clark 1st round
Eric Steinbach 2nd round
Bruce Nelson 2nd round
Derek Pagel 5th round
Ben Sobieski 5th round

What's Matt's excuse?
Matt Campbell took over for Paul Rhoads, and Ferentz took over for Hayden Fry...

Because it's totally irrelevant to a discussion about a recruit who plays safety.

Sad when you are limited to finding two positions to justify Campbell's player development. Maybe in this draft you can call yourself long snapper U. Never mind, Iowa already has a pro bowler at that position too.
It's actually really sad that you keep coming back after getting banned.

Forgive us if we defer to the scouting of the staff that's had 4 of the last 9 Big 10 defensive backs of the year, including two Thorpe finalists, has 6 active NFL DBs and will add 2 more this year.
Also, the Thorpe Award finalists are expected to be announced next week.

Even though Josh Jackson was not a semi-finalist he can be added as one of the 3 finalists next week. I would expect that to happen.
Pretty dumb comment to say that a Thorpe Award finalist, consensus AA and 2nd round draft pick is one of the 2 worst players in the Iowa secondary.
And one other finalist for the Thorpe. Sanders, King and Jackson have all been first team AA. He has had 13 DB’s drafted in his time at Iowa. I would guess 6-8 first team All-B1G guys as well back there.

I think he gets propped up because Iowa rarely signs a DB that is ranked higher than a 3*. The guys that have thrived under him (King, Jackson, Sanders, etc.) weren’t highly sought after.

LOL

I'm now some other guy because I said Thorpe? LOL

Both Hakeem and Montgomery didn't have any P5 offers and yet were both top-5 / top-10 at their positions in college and left as juniors but sure, Campbell just doesn't know how to develop guys right?

No, only KF and iowa get the benefit of the doubt. They evaluate and develop players better than anyone else and Campbell is totally unproven. That's argument I guess.

Thanks for making my points for me on Louisville - they make lots of offers on prospects they have no intention of accepting a commitment from. Whether it is 500 or 432 doesn’t really matter in that context. Second, I would normally give the benefit of the doubt if there was another P5 offer besides ISU there.

And no, I don’t consider Rutgers a real P5 school either. Certainly I wouldn’t crow about one of my school’s commits having an offer from them or Kansas. UNI is a better offer than either of those two schools IMO.
Just gonna choose to ignore the other schools I put up there huh? Imagine that...maybe cause it doesn't fit your trash narrative

That's what I'd say too if my team got shut out of the instate top 10. Can you imagine if the Clones landed 7 of them? You'd be beside yourself. LOL Hard to believe Campbell wouldn't make instate recruiting more of a priority. JP on board with this strategy?
3 of the top ten grew up a "stones throw" from the university of iowa and on the side of the state that has HEAVILY favored Iowa. But yea, get your rocks off
