ISU @ Colorado Postgame

That wasn't my question. I see improvement in a very young team. Today's game was extemely frustrating. ISU should have won. But at the same time I saw a lot of positives in a game where ISU was a 9.5 point underdog.

Sorry, I saw more improvement last year. We just lost to a bad team that had not scored twenty points in a month.

The option worked on the previous try and they were waiting for it this time. You can second guess it all day long. What made me pull my hair out was the attempt to run the clock out on the previous drive and punting on 4th and 1. I know that this is what should be done for most teams, but most teams don't have our defense.

Have waited a while to cool down to post.

Pretty good effort today. Had our chances. When Hawkins started the 2nd half, I knew it would be tough because that meant more passing.

I have zero complaints about the offensive play calling the last couple games. I think we have been doing MUCH better.

Defensively, we need more horses to compete.

I cursed and was pissed like everyone else, but I know better days will be here someday.

Not gonna judge any of the coaches for another couple years. Let them get their players first.

What about that 60 yard play to Collin Franklin? You don't like those?

That was a good play call, but an even worse effort on the defensive side of the ball. It's far to easy to leave a tight end wide open.

So that's ONE good play call.

We got lucky on the Touchdown where we scored off the option.

Like I said, you have about a 98% chance of getting the six inches you need on a QB sneak from that position.

If we were further out, like at the 6 yard line where we should have been with the Delay of Game penalty, I would think differently...

I know things seem bleak, but I was able to find some positives today.

1. We beat the spread.
2. We are not the worst field goal kicking team in the conference (far from it, in fact)
3. I had 8 tacos at Es Tas during the football game.
4. Craig Brackins has a sweet mohawk, which I am hoping will give him super powers this year.

Reminds me of the good old days. Es tas taco bar for lunch, followed by too many jager-bombs before heading back to work.:wideeyed:

This loss was aganst the worst offense in the big 12. We could not stop Maine.

After watching this game I do have to admit...U-COULD BE RIGHT!!!

Our defense makes every quarterback we play look like they should win the heisman trophy!!!

Well the only way to finish this day off is to head to the bar.

Have a good night everyone...

On CU's drive that brought the score within 3...we did not have any pressure or blitz once.

I did not see much either in the 4th quarter. I hardly saw any in the 4th quarther. No pressure at all from our front 4 either like there was in the first half.

Did you watch the game? Or just joining the cool crowd to complain.

Our players aren't good enough to get pressure, even while blitzing (and it showed). We had no pressure the entire day, and they tore us apart for it once they got a QB in that could complete passes.

Someone else said that this was something like the worst product they have ever seen on the field. Really???? Losing by 4 on the road to Colorado is the worst product you've seen? Did you black out for the latter Walden/early and latter McCarney years?

There was plenty of pressure in the first half of the game from our front four and our linebackers. There was nothing in the second half.

I'm not one growl about coaching...but there were too many calls today that cost us the game. I cannot think of any situation in which you would run an option OUT OF THE SHOTGUN on the 1 yardline with 3 seconds left without Scales who is your short yardage man. I'm no division 1 coach, so maybe Chiz knows something I dont, but seriously....just wow.

I love your username!

It is their first win against a Top Ten since 1990.
How come is our team going the opposite direction?

How so? Opposite from where? All of our National Championships? Our Big 12 Titles? North Titles?

Did you honestly think we would be having a great year this year?

I am 100% behind this coaching staff. I have not even second guessed them yet. Chizik is building a program, not a flash in the pan team.

Some of you guys act like we're Florida.

I agree I think everyone is freaking out.

Well, the headline could have been "ISU edged out in the second Big 12 Toilet Bowl" We almost avoided the Bottom 10. Let's hope we can go to a real bowl next year!

Toilet Bowl III will be in (2) weeks vs KSU. Let's hope the guys and get it together vs Prince "Lame Duck" of Manhattan. We are getting better, but so is everyone else.

According to you guys, every game is the toilet bowl. Let it go. You're smearing our players, our coaches, and our school.

I'm tired of it.

QB sneak with a 220 pound QB when you need 3 inches is the one and only call to make. The Versus studio guy was basically laughing at McFarland for calling a shot gun option in that situation. I'd laugh too if I wasn't so po'd.

I had to work and listened to the game on the radio. John Walters called the play before it occurred too. "Probably going to be the option here" or something along those lines. Pathetic...

Watch the Mediacom reply show Tuesday night if they still do that.

I wonder if the players have a tough time respecting the coach when they continually make really poor play calls?
It may not be the calls but the execution. I would assume that the players know how are the first down marker is and the play is called to get the first down. If the player cuts it short they made the error not the coach. Now, it is the coaches fault for not having them prepped but I dont see the players getting down on the coaches when it is their fault some of these plays dont work. You dont know and I dont know why these plays are not working.
