I don’t believe there has been any official announcement about this. Rumor mill was he appealed saying it was just some paperwork mix up for an Adderal prescription but I haven’t seen anything since beyond him not participating in the Pan Am qualifier.

I could potentially see a Degen medical redshirt if his surgery gets put off long enough. At the same time, he might just want to give it his all one last year and retire from wrestling before injuring anything else too bad. Best case scenario is still Degen gets his surgery, goes 149 next year and Gomez makes it down to 133.

Does anyone know if Degen has his shoulder surgery yet? Or is that moved back due to Covid 19?

Degan confirms he already had his surgery so that’s positive.

Does he have a redshirt? I think only way we take him is if he can bump up to 149. I like our 141 prospects with Parker next year and Gomez for 2 years after that.

Brent isn't listed on VT's roster, so I have to assume that he hung it up after the injuries.

We could really REALLY use landing Moore.. almost too perfect a situation. I think him and Jarrett are fairly close and he could scrap with him, Parker, Gomez, Metcalf for an entire redshirt year. Then step right in at 149. Hope the staff can make this happen. They need it.

As I have mentioned in the past if KD and staff are going get our program back to where we want it to be they are going to have to hit the transfer portal and get proven athletes. Unfortunately they have not shown the ability to get the recruits that we will need to get there just yet. I truly believe a strong finish this year at nationals would have helped tremendously but unfortunately that was taken away from them.
