That's very disappointing. She keeps talking about how if you are sick you shouldn't go to the restaurants. TRUE. But you can be carrying this and not be sick yet.
Much like when she was one of the last to call off school, I think she is just delaying the inevitable.
Fed and state press conferences today seem like a gentile reminder/warning. Basically if you can't do as we ask, we will do it for you by next week. Stay home everyone.
Selfishly I'm glad they decided not to make kids make up the school they miss. My wife is hourly at a school and this really helps the prospects of her getting paid during this time since they've already budgeted it and wont have to make it up.
She was not "one of the last to call off school".
I may be wrong but that is not what I heard. I understood it as they have the flexibility to potentially waive the requirement to make up school in June but they have to still ensure graduating students meet all requirements prior to graduation. They don't know yet what will be done.

The somewhat hilarious part of this is that your more expensive places to buy food and necessities, like Walgreens and gas stations, have plenty. It's like, "the end is nigh, but I ain't paying an extra dollar for that".

Look if you think that is political, we are in bigger trouble than I thought. Calling off schools is a public health issue, which is not political. But I'll take it out of this thread.
I took it as they waived the classroom requirements which frees up districts to look into online options during the 4 weeks (or longer). So graduating seniors may be able to just finish online.
This is probably more for older kids. K-5 might be more difficult to do this.
Seriously if some story said, “the mayor declined to comment”...and I posted “the mayor should have a comment”...there would be two or three butt lickers saying “TAKE IT TO THE CAVE!”
That's good with the TP shortage and all. Not a good time for that.
