Here we go again, what are realistic expectations for our program?
ISU has won 2 regular season conference titles since 1946(2000,01). That is 76 years.
Excluding a 1944 tournament that included 8 teams and was during WWII, ISU has made 4 Sweet Sixteens and 1 Elite Eight in program history.
Since and including the year 2000, ISU has made the NCAA tournament 10 out of 20 years or .500.
I am not saying that "fans shouldn't have expectations."
I am saying that ISU fans should have realistic expectations.
History just doesn't show ISU as the basketball juggernaut that a lot of posters on here believe they are. They aren't. Marcus Fizer on the cover of Sports Illustrated has been the high point of ISU basketball history. Larry drinking was probably the most famous or infamous point of all in program history. Fred had some juice, but decided to leave.
Like I said, I don't care if they fire Prohm, I can make the case for or against it. Just try to have a little perspective of what the ISU program and job really are.
