Weiskamp's struggles are really something to behold. He just looks lost out there. It's one thing to not be shooting well, but he's really not contributing at all.
Not even sure he's on the All Iowa team right now. I think the only locks are Solo, Garza and Bolton
I noticed that too curious what the Free Throw difference was.... Purdue 19-22 and Iowa 18-22.
EIU fans are use to having a 10+ advantage in FT shot so I understand their frustration.
That is the reason for the tip to buzzer 10-15 pt Purdue lead not the boilermaker effort and generating wide open shots.
Sadly, it's a direct reflection of the head coach. You just can't let your players comment on the officiating like they have. It's a bad look and probably not a reputation you want to have. Iowa's kryptonite is teams that play physical and can match up with Garza and Purdue has shown it twice now.
He's been bad. No two ways about it. It's honestly been hard to watch. I hope he pulls out of it but he's running out of time for this season.
Totally agree with this. I'm not sure I've seen a group of college players complain about refs like this group of Iowa players. I'm not sure I've even seen another college player vocal about refs after a game. And it 100% falls back on Fran.
I never said that the cards didn't fall right this season. Like I said, had Tyrese been healthy, I don't think we would've figured everything out and made the tournament or anything. I think to an extent, him being hurt has jump started some of these guys into playing the roles they will play in the future.
And no we're not seeping with talent, that's pretty obvious, but we have some bright spots. Jackson looks like he's going to be a very good shooter by the time he's done here. Bolton has some kinks to work out but if he can consistently play at the level he did last night, he's going to be very very good. Solomon and Conditt played very physical with those big men last night, who are absolutely ginormous. Grill looks like he's going to end up being a hard-nosed defender, and when he develops his offensive game, he's going to be very hard to keep off the floor from a coaching standpoint.
We actually looked fun to watch last night. I thought WVU was going to smack us, I honestly did, but we didn't let them. We brought the physicality and were in the game at the end. That game is where I'd build the foundation for next year if I was Prohm. The second half was some of the best basketball I've seen us play all year on both offense and defense and I'd use a lot of that film as teaching points for next year's team.

It's not the physicality towards Garza, it's to the other guys. Garza's going to get around 20 or more a night on most occasions because if he doesn't, Iowa's going to have a very tough time winning.
He looks like the old guy who runs pick up and just torches the young kids, while out hustling every single one of them lol.
Reading comprehension....I said I'd prefer he stick to his average. I'm fine with Connor shooting his average 1-3 from 3 each game.
