Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

LOL, Jordan was the PG of the team last year and was 1 pt away in regulation from the Sweet 16. Tough losing a leader like Jordan, and another starter and a 4* freshman as well. Iowa fights through though and still looks like a NCAA Tournament team.
I understand your argument with Jordan. Having Jordan would help with Iowa's ability to stretch the floor considering how good of a shooter he is, although I think Toussaint is playing pretty well right now and is tremendously better than Jordan at getting to the rim and finishing.

But, saying things would be better with a "starter" who averages 5.7 points for a career and a 4-star freshman, who by this time in the year wouldn't be playing much anyway, is unjustified. Iowa looked good last night. They had opportunities to win but Maryland is good and played well. Not having a player that hasn't played in two years and a true freshman that hasn't proven anything was not the reason why Iowa lost last night.

Yeah I would also say that Iowa finishes the year out with some tough games too. Their easiest game is Nebraska, but Fred's going to be determined to get a win in Carver. Other than that game, they play Purdue twice, @ Michigan State, @ Minnesota who's been playing teams tough, @ Indiana, Illinois twice, Penn State, and Ohio State although they just lost a key piece with DJ Carton taking a step away from the program.

Second time I was able to watch Iowa and was impressed with the offensive scheme (as I was Maryland); lots of slip-screens, movement w/o the ball; fast-moving and quick-setup after MD scores. Players know exactly what to execute when either in transition, or from half-court set.
Compared to Prohm's offense; Iowa look more disciplined with better execution.
From what I can tell about our O, it seems to rely on pretty much the High-ball screen, then either slip, or shoot. We have been running the KU perimeter weave to get the player we want into position for high-ball screen, but for the most part it looks to me to be more free-lanced. .

They'll win a couple more .

Things change during a season, heck, Super-team DePaul, littered with NBA players,
is 13-8.

Yeah Depaul was playing well and then fell off the map once they entered Big East play, which is a very tough conference this year.

I only caught a few possessions in the first half (two Frederick air balls lol) but has Iowa been this soft on the glass all night or just the second half?

Naturally, these would be the few possessions you tune in for.

Nobody believes you though.
