All Iowa Football Team---Post Bowl Edition

Avg Nov/Dec defense Iowa played: 49th
Avg Nov/Dec defense ISU played: 66th

The one Top 25 defense ISU played during that time his stat line was 17/30 - 56.7%, 0/0, 222 yards, 1 fumble, -16 rushing yards, and got the offense 9 points.

Iowa State had the 5th hardest schedule in the country this year and Purdy threw for 4k yards. Iowa's SOS wasn't even in the top 25. Lol!

-16 yards rushing? I thought Purdy was more mobile than that?

I'm asking what you think he'll be pre-season All Conference

I'd say probably unless Ehlinger/OU QB get the 1st and 2nd team honors. You are talking pre season? I am talking about who actually wins the 1st team all conference QB position next year.

I was talking preseason although I think he'll be first team at the end of the season too

Seems right on with Stanley's career stats. Purdy's numbers were clearly down and that is why I said he regressed as the season wore on. He didn't seem the same.
Brock wasn't fully healthy and I think we that in how he was timid running sometimes, especially in the final 2 games of the year. He didn't look the same against KSU and ND, however in the KSU game there were 40 mph winds and in the ND game we played the #3 pass defense in the nation.

Yeah a guy who's going to be first team all conference in the preseason is more than just good IMO
The bowl season really highlights it this year, but do you really think the B12 will be as down next year? There is a chance the conference only has two teams in the Top 25 at the end of this year, and one of them is about to lose a coaching staff. I think you guys could do big things if there continues to be a slump.

I haven't even thought about the Big 12 next year. Duggan at TCU scares me though

Right, Purdy did not play that well against the #15 defense that's terrific defending the pass. I'll agree. He did not put up a TD and that's not good. That was also the one game this year Purdy didn't have a TD. Nate Stanley didn't have a TD in 5 games this year. Three of them being against the #66 Nebraska defense, the #80 Illinois defense, and the #99 Purdue defense.

Stanleys stat line against Nebraska was 11-24, 99 yards, 0 TD's, 1 INT. That's laughable but Keith Duncan saved his a** and saved it on multiple occasions.

How are his numbers inflated?

He only played against 3 top 30 defenses, one being Iowa's. He played 7 Big12 games vs sub 50 defenses, plus the #123 ranked ULM defense and a FCS defense. That is 9 games to inflate you offensive numbers.
