All Iowa Football Team---Post Bowl Edition

Yes, Hall had more receiving yards and was very good this year for you. Do people really think I'm taking shots at Hall? I have only said how good he was the entire time, and that he had a better year.

So you admit Hall is better than Goodson. Was that so hard?

No I don't think you're taking shots at Hall, I was just calling out how you were wrong saying Hall had more receiving yards because he plays in an offense that passes more. Hall had less receptions than Goodson, but had almost 100 more yards and a TD.

How about a little 2020 preview. A lot of good young players for ISU, and obviously this assumes Wirfs and Epenesa leaving early.

QB - Purdy
RB- Hall
TE- Kolar
WR - Milton
WR - ISM
WR - Smith
OL- Jackson
OL- Downing
OL - Linderbaum
OL - Newell
OL - Iowa ?

DL- Bailey
DL - Uwazurike
DL - Gholston
DL- Petersen
LB- Rose
LB- Vance
LB- Colbert
CB- Hankins
CB- Johnson
S- Stone
S- Eisworth

Pretty close I think.

I think the OL should be Jackson, Downing, Linderbaum, Banwart and Schott. I didnt think Newell played hardly at all this year prior to the bowl game.

Defense I would take Petersen off and replace him with Nixon and remove Colbert. I have not been impressed with him in his time at Iowa. Niemann would probably be the logical replacement at this point.

Yeah, and the B1G sat out a couple years. Time to save us from OU for a couple years IMO
Unfortunately I think it will trickle down to noncon and teams deciding to play weaker opponents. Oregon barely lost to Auburn and if they won that, they are probably in over OU. Hell, Baylor played no one in noncon and I don't know what happens if they beat OU for the B12.

Hall had more of an opportunity to play and had a better year. Do you think any RB who had more yards than Hall on different teams were all better than him?

I think there were a lot of running backs better than Hall. Goodson wasn't one of them so not sure what you're trying to say

Just saying that if Goodson got as many carries as Hall, he would have also had right around 900 yards rushing, just like Hall.

The only team in the country who could beat LSU this year is Clemson and that will be played out.
I have no love for Ohio State but they showed the other night that they were every bit as capable as Clemson. Refs had way too much impact on that game. I thought overturning the fumble return TD was horrible. Totally changed the game.

That was a horrible overturn. This year there were clearly 3 teams better than everyone else in Clemson, OSU and LSU.

And he had more catches but had less receiving yards and TDS. Not sure more carries is a good thing for him
If we're talking about the 2020 team then it would be much more subjective than the 2019 team at this point. I'd say Hall for 2019 but I can see why someone would lean toward Goodson for 2020. Both will be starting from the beginning and Goodson should have a bit better line blocking for him.

If you want to think Goodson will statistically be better than Hall next year due to a better OL/weaker schedule that's fine but we're going off what we know now which is Hall is better

Crazy that ISU has better players and coaches, but aren't as good as Iowa.

Not really that crazy at all. Happens every season where teams with more talent and better coaches finish behind other teams they shouldn't. It's a crazy game though I'll give you that
