Dude, don't worry about explaining it to @CyTwins he actually thinks there is only one SOS ranking. Yikes! He will never understand this.
his board, his rules. No matter how ridiculous it is. Love it when it blows up on him though.

LOL, this is all about Sagarin? HAHA, that is a joke if you are using just Sagarin, no wonder you seem so stupid on this. There are many SOS metrics, and they are all over the board. If you think one is gospel, that kind of shows how simple you are.

Sagarin is the most referenced SOS site out there by far
Um, no, not even close.
Yeah but you can't rely on rankings and stats because Big 12 teams and Big Ten teams were going up against completely different offenses. The Big 12 gets a bad rap when it comes to "not playing defense," but it could just be that the stats make it seem that way because the offenses are some of the best in the nation. The Big 12 puts plenty of defensive players into the NFL so that has to count for something.Sagarin SOS doesn't break things down between offense and defense. Was Iowa State's schedule tough? Absolutely. But looking just at the defenses they (Goodson and Hall) faced, ISU's schedule wasn't nearly as tough as their overall SOS. Iowa faced three defenses that were better against the run than the best rush defense ISU faced (which was Iowa), and six defenses that were in the top 40 (TCU was the next best rush defense ISU faced at No. 40). Five of those six were also in the top 40 by YPC, while only one of the defenses ISU faced was in the top 40 by YPC (Iowa).
I still picked Hall, but let's at least try to be honest about the quality of competition faced.
That's the only site I saw referenced by local and national media during the Fake ID season
There is a reason why some basketball schools have hired schedule strategists to help them get in the tournament and get a better seed. Much better to beat the #130th ranked team like a drum than it is to beat the #284th ranked team the exact same way. Neither are losses, but the 130th ranked team doesn't kill your SOS like the 284th ranked team does.
Please stay on topic, this is a Iowa Football recruiting thread, not basketball scheduling. I don't want to have to report you to the mods.

Bump for @CyTwins. Link to local or national media referencing Sagarin SOS in 2015?
Google it. It's all the Register uses, it's all KXNO uses, Cowherd uses it too IIRC. I've honestly never heard of any other SOS metric unless ESPN is trying to push off their metrics nobody uses
Wow, you need to start following college football. I haven't seen anyone reference only a Sagarin rating for college football, like ever.
Lol he partners with USA Today. Do you live under a rock?
Jeff Sagarin
It doesn't matter what analytical system he would use, if you wouldn't like it, you'd diminish it.Sagarin isn't used for anything. It is the USA Today's version of the ESPN FPI. LOL that you use it for anything at all, I'd bet you wouldn't be caught dead using it for BB, and it is even worse for football.

It’s literally the only reputable source for SOS that I know of for college football
