All Iowa Football Team---Post Bowl Edition

Iowa's top games were much, much harder. Iowa played 4 top 20 teams to ISU 2 and played 7 bowl teams vs ISU 6. I think we both understand the top of most anything is way more important than who is better at the bottom.

When it comes to SOS I agree, but not in most other things.

That's like saying #8 Oregon = #37 Michigan State. Lol yikes!

There is a reason why some basketball schools have hired schedule strategists to help them get in the tournament and get a better seed. Much better to beat the #130th ranked team like a drum than it is to beat the #284th ranked team the exact same way. Neither are losses, but the 130th ranked team doesn't kill your SOS like the 284th ranked team does.

Yeah for who is better, teams are always rewarded for playing tougher top opponents. I mean the NCAA committee looks for quality wins over good opponents. They could give a **** less about which quad 4 team is better, they all suck

Worked out well in 2017-18 for Iowa when they lost to those 100+ ranked teams but then killed the 250+ teams

Iowa was terrible that year. 4-14 in the Big 10. They weren't even close to the tournament. So not sure what you are trying to say here.

You can lose to the teams ranked in the 100s. It's almost impossible to lose to the 250+ teams

I don't know how good MSU schedule was, but Iowa played 4 top 20 teams and 7 Bowl teams, Oregon played 1 top 20 team in the regular season and 7 bowl teams. Iowa's was much toucher than Oregon's.

Oregon actually played a tougher schedule than Iowa

Oregon actually played a tougher schedule than Iowa

LOL. Iowa played 2 teams ranked higher than Oregon's only top 20 team they faced. Iowa played 4 teams better than Oregon's 2nd best opponent. It really wasn't close.

What is tougher, playing 4 top 20 teams or 1?

What is tougher? Oregon's schedule is tougher. If you got a problem with SOS take it up with Sagarin not me

No idea what this is

Aptly named by “College GameDay” coordinating producer Lee Fitting, Strength of Record (SOR) measures how strong a team’s record is, given its schedule. It’s based on the chance of an average Top-25 team having the team’s record or better, given the opponents the team has played (and where they played) to date. A higher Strength of Record indicates a more impressive accomplishment – it means that the team’s W-L record was more difficult to achieve.

I feel a lot of advanced statisticians believer SOR is a better metric than SOS.

LOL, this is all about Sagarin? HAHA, that is a joke if you are using just Sagarin, no wonder you seem so stupid on this. There are many SOS metrics, and they are all over the board. If you think one is gospel, that kind of shows how simple you are.

Dude, don't worry about explaining it to @CyTwins he actually thinks there is only one SOS ranking. Yikes! He will never understand this.
