Herby and Corso

Not sure how many more years Lee has in him to do Gameday, but really glad we got him to ISU and put Cy’s head gear on before he calls it quits.

Agree. I heard people while standing in the crowd during gameday, and other places that people are tired of Corso and want him gone. Corso IS the reason I watch gameday and that final picks segment is always must see TV.

As an analyst, I think Corso is kind of a doosher. (Sorry, Rulzzz.) But as entertainment, yeah, he's pretty good.

I think I speak for most of the people who “want Corso gone” when I say that it has nothing to do with his analysis or opinions and more about how it is shameful for ESPN to parade around an old man with dementia (or at the very least aphasia) just so that he can throw on a mascot head like he’s always done. Herbie generally has to guide him through his two segments now and even then he still barely makes it. It was great while it lasted but it’s past time to move on.

I don't think he has dementia. He had a stroke, and that's why I think he has problems speaking, but I don't think there's a mental thing there. Plus, he and his family know him better than we do. If he wants to keep doing it, he should.

Corso has earned the right to quit when he wants to. Corso does struggle, I don’t think as much as some think, but he is still able to make it through. When he wants to be done then he should be done. Until then it is special to see him out there.

I think Lee loves his job. I agree it is shameless because he's obviously had better years but if he wants it so be it.

He is part of gameday. I mean when he puts the mascot head on people love it. He does not do that many segments during the show anymore. So what if they have him on. The crowd was chanting Corso really loud. So obviously people like him. I see no problem with it. I actually love it when he accidently calls a kid a "Midget" and the rest of the guys just start laughing or he drops an "F" Bomb or something.

Corso doesn't provide any insights at and mostly just repeats cliches or his old one liners. He's just a show mascot, and I think that's great. Not everybody has to know all the ins and outs and be providing hot takes all the time. Corso is just fun.

At his age he could probably be doing a lot of other things on a Saturday morning but Corso is still out there making people laugh and having a good time talking football and if that is what makes him happy and the fans and ESPN still want him on air then good for him! I have no issue with him still being on the show and I can't imagine who will be able to fill his shoes when he leaves. He's an incredible man that I don't get why people don't like him or want to see him leave the show. He seems like he just loves life and the interaction with people that his job gives him the opportunity to do and I hope his health allows him to do it for as long as possible.

LC deserves to stay as long as he wants and can. A stroke is not the same thing as dementia but can make it difficult to communicate.

If Herbstreit helps him out I have no problem with that. In fact, that has made me like and respect Kirk. Every interaction I've seen between the two of them makes me think Kirk is a true friend to LC. I don't believe Herbsteit would let this go on if he thought Corso couldn't continue.

Love that I got to see Corso put on Cy's head!

Listen to him in that video, he's all over the place. And the way Herbstreet is talking to him feels very much like talking to someone you know is losing their mental capacity. It's been happening for years and consistently getting worse. He's a legend but it's past time.

I think it’s more a hearing thing than anything. I’ve felt he is similar to my Grandpa who can’t hear much anymore. They can’t hear what’s going on and it can give the appearance that they aren’t fully there when really they just can’t hear stuff. My grandpa will repeat stuff that we just said but it is because he can’t hear what we said.

He had a stroke, you doofus.

Show some compassion man! What a crappy way to view things, I have a ton of respect for Herbstreit after seeing that on top of how he's been a friend to Corso. What I saw there was a man who respects his elders and was making sure Corso was enjoying himself. We're all going to eventually grow old and who knows what will happen to us both physically and mentally some day and to say something like this disrespecting someone's mental capacity is just another example how our younger generations have a lack of respect for their elders. I see nothing wrong with Corso being on Gameday nor how he and Herby interact. The video puts a whole new perspective to me just how much Herby respects him and wants to make sure he enjoys himself.

I sure hope you don't have a stroke or have dementia in your older years and have a bunch of disrespectful kids or grandkids that say Grandpa has lost his mind and shouldn't be out in public anymore and want to stick you in a nursing home that they never come to visit.
