NFL: ***Official Week Four Thread***

Wow, I'm honestly shocked they actually did the obviously right thing.

Same. I expected a multi game suspension but the rest of the season is a bit of a shocker. Totally warranted, though. I recognize that the game moves fast and that some plays look dirty but really had no ill intent or anything. But that's not what this was. Burfict had to go out of his way to make helmet to helmet contact. It was 100% intentional.

Bears missing Trubisky (eventhough Daniels probably sees things better then Mitch), #58 and #96 on D and still pitching a shutout. Love it!!! Da Bears!

So if Chase Daniel plays well again next week and the Bears take care of business, is there a legitimate QB controversy brewing in Chicago? Obviously Trubisky has a higher ceiling but it's also pretty obvious that Daniel has a much, much better command and understanding of Nagy's offense.

Chiefs made it entertaining but holy crap that defense is bad. Stafford ripped that zone coverage apart.

I'm worried they got the bad game out of their systems now and they're going to light up the Colts next Sunday. In Arrowhead. In primetime. With the Colts possibly missing at least three starters on defense. ****.

Lions were missing a lot of players on D and they still did okay.

I hadn't really thought about it but it's an interesting idea. What do you think? Right now they're an old team going nowhere. Justin Herbert is tall and has a strong arm so it's a mortal lock that Elway will take him if he can secure a high enough draft pick.
Uh, yes. They should be listening to offers on all of them. That roster is total butt cheeks, they aren't winning anything in the short term.

They've got a few guys they can build around - Chubb (when he's healthy again), Lindsay, and Courtland Sutton. And it's way too early to tell with Fant. They could move Harris now but I wonder if what they'd get in return is better than what they'd get as a comp pick if they let him walk at the end of the season. Same for Sanders.

The problem is that they stupidly converted Joe Flacco's 2019 base salary into a signing bonus that could be spread out over the life of the contract. So in order to move on from him after this season it'd cost them 13 million in dead cap money in 2020. Why would you want him under center making that much if you're trying to lose? He's just good enough on occasion to accidentally win you a couple games.

Yep. If you're going to tank you gotta TANK tank. Like Miami.

And I'm not sure even that's going to work. The Dolphins play the Redskins in Week Six. I get it; Miami has been historically bad. But it's not as if the Skins are lighting it up either. Suppose the Dolphins accidentally win that one, or beat the Bengals in Week 16, or the Pats in Week 17 when New England already has a top two seed sewn up and will be resting players. That's one of the problems with tanking in the NFL. You can try to be as bad as you want, but every year there are at least a couple teams who are unintentionally terrible in their own right.
