The Best Team Lost...Again

Riley Moss is better than that Johnson kid? Yikes for Johnson
Would have been interesting to see if Moss bites on the trick play or stays on man with the deep post/deep corner. Scary to think there is a chance you guys wouldn't have got either big play against a depleted secondary. It was great strategy to go after the freshman with only a handful of plays under his belt. I'll give the ISU staff credit for that non-con game-planning.

But seriously, Riley Moss is better than that Johnson kid?

Shame on us for attacking poor players lol

No, it was a great strategy, and his tackle total tells that story. I only bring it up because some on here have tried to make the case that the staff doesn't prepare for non-cons. Sorry for the confusion.

I got ya.. I don't think that's very true at all... I think we prepare for every team that lines up against us. It's then all about execution.

Of course we prepare for every opponent. Not like Iowa who spends the entire off season obsessed with the in state rival, but in the way that we prepare for every game. It's difficult to prepare for bad luck and biased Big 10 refs, but we almost overcame all of that.

Seriously though 1976, banned in June and start posting again in June? Weak.

He's more experienced. Wouldn't be surprised to have Johnson pass him on the depth chart this season though. You're really into the Iowa DB depth chart huh?
I wouldn't think either of those guys would be on scholarship at most schools.

I just don't know how you can get so bad so quickly in your secondary with a supposedly good DB coach

Dude is a wizard, that's for sure. Very lucky to have Parker. 11th last year in total defense and 17th so far this year while 10th in scoring defense? That's getting to the elite level.

ISU offense must be truly inept to only score 17 pts if that were true.
Wet field conditions evened the playing field, on a dry field we would've scored many more points. We would've also scored more than 17 if there wasn't some fake holding call at the worst possible moment.

This stuff is so dang dumb I find it unbearable. The best team doesn't consistently shoot itself in the foot either. The best team won, it was a road game, we had every chance to win and didn't do it.
Iowa State may have looked like the better team in some facets of the game, but where it counted (turnovers, mistakes) we were not. In close games like that, games will be decided on the little things and Iowa was better at the little things.
