I definitely wouldn't have been surprised if he missed the game winner if the phantom holding call didn't happen
I honestly thought you guys would have had the advantage in the game if you would have gotten the ball back. Doesn't mean I would have guaranteed ISU victory or anything as a lot of different things can happen, but I wasn't feeling very confident we would get the stop either.
Purdy struggled at critical moments throughout the game, would've been interesting to see if he could come through.
Purdy converts on 4th and 13 without a phantom holding call. What's your point?
If saying "they didn't beat us, we beat ourselves" qualifies.....then every single ISU win since Hayden Fry has as asterisk.
Yep, as good as he was, you could say he cost ISU the game at the same time.
He over throws a wide open TE in the back of the endzone.
The fumble in the first half in Iowa's red zone.
He fell down losing five yards to make it 3rd and 13 and put ISU out of FG range.
He made a terrible read and pass on 4th and 13.
He also missed a wide open Landon Akers on a crossing out that would have put them in FG range earlier in the game and instead they had to punt.
Not to mention the lack of a huge holding call against Iowa on that specific play!!
Purdy should be able to do it according to the posts I've read on here. He should have done it "for sure". Also, there is no way Stanley would complete a 3rd and 22 pass because he's a bum that can't make plays....and he's fat.
I would actually say the likelihood is about the same as a game winning drive with no timeouts.
And you're the guy that minimizes a 60 minute game to 1 play. A team that has scored a whopping 30 points in 120 minutes of regulation play was going to magically turn into an offensive juggernaut. I sure hope you're not a Saints fan as well because you wouldn't have survived the no call against the Rams last year in the playoffs.

Again iowa got away with a huge no call for holding on that play. Uwai was in the backfield with an iowa lineman bear hugging him from the side.
