Hawk fans gonna turn on Stanley

I think Purdy is a "good" young QB. Too soon to call him elite for sure. Stanley would also fall into the "good" QB category too. Not elite either. He cherry picked the last 3 games of last season I didn't. I think Stanley performed better over those 3 games that's all.

You think Stanley is as good as Purdy? Lol!

Stanley played pretty dang well in that Mississippi State game and Brock played very well in the 2nd half of the WSU game, but his first half was shaky. If Stanley would've played in those conditions that we did against Drake, his stat line probably would've been the same. Iowa probably would've just ran the ball the entire game imo. The Kansas State game was a pretty good game for Purdy and one of his interceptions was ripped away from a WR. Stanley played Illinois that same week and did well too. I think Purdy was more consistent throughout the entirety of the year, but Stanley did play very well to end the year.

This year is the make or break year for Nate's legacy. There are a lot of people that want to believe he's really good. If he has a great year then that's how he will be remembered. If he struggles, people are going to get on him.

Oh? But you know that Oklahoma would have beaten Minnesota by 35+ and hung 60 on them last year?

Lol I think there is more certainty that Oklahoma would've waxed Minnesota than Purdy having an unbelievable game against Iowa. Both of them we obviously don't know, but if you don't think OU would've killed Minnesota then I can't help ya.

Consistency has always been an issue for Stanley, he needs to make improvements there for sure this season. Purdy has a lot of potential, we will see if he progresses.

I think you cherry pick numbers to support your narrative. Such as Passer Rating vs Adjusted QB rating. I think Purdy has more potential than Stanley but it remains to be seen if he reaches his potential.

Absolutely. If Purdy keeps progressing he could an amazing QB. There were many times throughout the year, and not just passing the ball, where you could tell he was special.

You realize Purdy's Adjusted QB rating is way better than Stanley's right?

I think Epenesa has more potential than Zach Peterson but it remains to be seen of he reaches his potential

So the Hawk fans here would take Stanley over Brock?

Yes. As I already pointed out, in the few games I saw of Iowa State, Purdy was rarely asked to make any difficult throws. The vast majority of his yardage was on passes to wide open receivers or Butler and/or Montgomery making a tremendous play. I fully acknowledge that I may have just watched the wrong games, but I wasn’t particularly impressed with Purdy as a passer in the games I saw.

Holy crap. I’m pretty sure you didn’t watch any Iowa games last year if that’s your reasoning.

You're fine to think Stanley is better, although every CFB analyst says otherwise, but you're straight up wrong here dude.

Blows my mind how you can watch a top 10 QB and not be impressed but then watch a QB not even in the top 50 miss throws all over the field and think he's good
