Hawk fans gonna turn on Stanley

I mean, so does Purdy and I hear he's pretty darn good. For reference:

Purdy vs Drake: QBR: 29.3
Stanley vs PSU: QBR: 35.4

One of those games was an away game in rain against a ranked team with scholarships. The other was a home game in the rain against a non-ranked team without scholarships.

I think everyone has bad games.

Also, Stanley hurt the thumb on his throwing hand during the game at PSU.

When a person on here emails another user's boss to try to get them in trouble they need severe mental help.

Stanley has wracked up stats against a bunch of crappy teams. Hear are the records of the B1G teams he has collected wins against... What a meat grinder!!!

Both are extremely strange in the context we are talking about. Not sure how you can try and defend it as normal but I am not that surprised that you are trying to.
I think you're taking the fat jokes a little too seriously. Especially when Nate Stanley isn't actually even fat.

Not as weird as a bunch of dudes obsessing over a college kid's physique.
its pretty strange for a bunch of ISU fans to obsess over Stanley's weight as much as you guys do though.

So @BLHawk what was your response to this? I mean he's still in high school, so I'm sure you chimed in:
Just saying it's going look bad calling Stanley "Fat" when you have a guy like this in your recruiting class. Unless they have a plan for him to play somewhere else. He's 17 yrs old 2 inches shorter than Stanley and within 10 lbs already. That doesn't scream P5 QB.

A few of them did have their feelings hurt. A few of us have actually said he isn't fat, but if they want to be upset so be it.

There wasnt a need to because by the time I read those posts he had already clarified he meant no ill will towards the kid and admitted he went about it the wrong way.

You're right. My intention was just to make the point that the attacks on Stanley wouldn't age well and I agree that I didn't go about it the way I should have. I meant nothing malicious towards the young man.

You must have missed my post earlier. Dude is looking solid, easy to see he's been putting in the work. Hopefully it shows on the field and leads to one more 26 Passing TD season, even though that is a lot to ask.

That’s what they say. You can lose the belly fat but once you get man boobs they are hard to shake.

Cherry-picking stats is fun. Do the two wins against Iowa State and the wins over Boston College and Mississippi State not count? Asking for a friend.

I'm not here to argue Stanley is great, or even really good. He's not been either of those so far, just not accurate enough. But I could make a reasonable argument he's been "good." If the pass from McSorley in 2017 is 2 inches lower it gets tipped by Hooker and Iowa beats a 12-2 Penn State team on in a game where Iowa went 76 and 80 yards the last 2 times it had the ball (Stanley was the QB).

Stanley could very well struggle at ISU this year, don't know. Cyclones have a good defense.
