Athlon Anonymous Coach Review

So Herman or Riley? Need one of textual analysis things to give us an ID. I'm thinking we've heard enough of Campbell that we'd be able to identify his speech patterns even if he was anonymous

Les Miles wishing
Edit: Should clarify, Les probably still thinks he’s at LSU and he’s competing for a NC.

If we're trying to guess the coach, notice the repeated use of "really." If that offers any clues for those who are familiar with Big 12 coaches' speech patterns.

they're really mean, blue-collar guys
You have to really prepare for it
It really hurts losing David Montgomery
This is just a really hard place to build a consistent winner
it's really a quarterback development story here

If I didn't know the context, I'd swear it's Jay Bilas. :)

Talk about a 180 in the description for Baylor from the Briles years. Sounds like how one might have described Kansas State during the height of Snyder's run in the 2000s.

That was a very flattering description of ISU -- an "extremely well-coached team." Whichever ******* said Campbell will be a star (he's not already?) can step on a Lego.

Kansas sounds like it will still suck -- good.

Watching the KSU program right now is like watching ISU basketball after Hoiberg, but I think their new staff is doing a good job following a legend (as has Prohm).

OU looks and sounds scary good this year. Maybe the year they finally surmount those SEC teams they are likely going to see in the playoff, if they make it there?

OSU sounds like its typical glass cannon self, though I hope some other teams in the conference -- ISU -- can help shore up the conference's defensive reputation.

TCU could help with that defensive reputation, too.

So much fawning over Texas.

I am still surprised Texas Tech fired Kliff; I would have given him one more year because they came on strong late last year. I hope I get to see us win in Lubbock.

WVU underachieved last year. That was their year to really rattle the cage.

Texas Tech lost 5 in a row to finish the season.

Thank you for the correction --

Looking at the schedule now, yeah, that was a rough end to the year.

Going from 5-2 to 5-7 is pretty crushing.
Bowman going down was a big reason for that. I wonder how our last 5 games would have went if we lost Purdy for the year. Probably not 0-5, but it would have been a lot different that's for sure.

Not too mention, I'm pretty sure they were the most penalized team in the conference. Kingsberry for all his offensive glory never seemed to have the details nailed down like Campbell has.

What makes you folks think it’s a head coach? It does say “coaching staffs”, and this seems like the kind of thing a HC would leave to an assistant.

My vote: Herman

Agree. There are several 'talent' references and Herman would never admit that he was wrong again with his previous statements of-- 'It's hard to recruit to Ames Iowa."

My guess is that CMC did the Texas review. His media comments always include questions.
