Athlon Anonymous Coach Review

What makes you folks think it’s a head coach? It does say “coaching staffs”, and this seems like the kind of thing a HC would leave to an assistant.
Exactly, remember when some jag coach was dissing ISU for getting rid of McCarney? It was totally Mike Stoops.

I don't know, I could Herman saying it.

It is perfect BB material though. "Yea, you guys are good but if you had any talent, you could be really good."

CMC is getting good enough talent to win a conference title. Time is the remaining variable.

Last comment is either an assistant coach or Herman.

Would be rich coming from Herman considering he could easily be fired with a poor year.

Do people think one coach is responsible for all the comments on each team? It seems to me each of the quoted paragraphs of text are from different coaches.

Every comment is from a different staff typically. So only 5/10 teams actually did one for us but most of the others have 6/10. So I think our staff did it which is kinda surprising

Always enjoy reading this feature. Thanks for posting. The little dig in there warms my heart. Our conference mates want us to go back to being a doormat. It's no fun competing against a prepared and talented Iowa State team.

I thought the whole thing was filled with backhanded compliments. The Baylor comments were glowing for the most part, and they were 6-6.

I don't agree with their characterization of Purdy. He's confident in his skills, but he's not a "Wild West" personality. He's a humble leader who knows how to win. His style of play is a little reminiscent of a Mayfield type, but if you've listened to Purdy at all, his personality is much closer to Tebow than Mayfield.

Also think that a lot of people are ignorant to how TV money has helped ISU level the playing field as an athletic department. If we have a good coach, which we do, we have the resources and department commitment to build a consistent winner. The perception of ISU is stuck in the '90s.

I agree with those that think these are likely assistants commenting.

I imagine eating with Mike Stoops involving not getting a word in, wondering if he's loud or if it's just you, and getting food spit into your eating area.

I think its going to take more time being ranked, and winning more ranked v ranked games to change that perception.

Its Herman. He has a CLEAR agenda after leaving here. He can eat a bag of dicks.

Honestly most of these coaches sound like they have sour grapes against our program. A real how dare you build a winner in Ames mentality.

Bring it on

I hope Campbell posts things like that last comment on his own bulletin board.
Coach, you realize even some of your own peers still don't believe you can win here at Iowa State.
That would motivate the hell out of me.

They’re talking about his infield personality. The way he puts balls in, he’s definitely a “gunslinger”, he’ll take off running rather than standing in the pocket waiting, and he gets his teammates and the crowd fired up. “Maverick/Wild West”.
