Basically said Iowa is "impressive and in the fight" when asked about how much he was considering Iowa.

Also listed several programs when asked what other schools he was considering.

I know you really don’t understand football so I’ll explain this to you. When a game begins, there are two sets of players and two sets of coaches. They are called teams. Each team has the same objective, scoring more points than the other team. One of the ways to score more points is to put your players at an advantage and to put the other teams players at a disadvantage. That’s the job of he coaches.

Iowa was playing that day with two freshman corners. No way were they going to be able to ensure that neither corner was not "in an island". I realize that someone, like you, who doesn’t understand football would be unable to see all of this. If you have any other questions don’t hesitate to ask.

Nothing in there said anything about promising his mom he wouldn't leave college early. You can leave early and get a degree no problem. See James Daniels

The "he's got some things to work on" sounds a lot like the coaches telling him that considering how high his stock was at that time

Both King and Daniels are great Hawkeyes. They both took different paths and both seemed to have worked for them. Congrats to them.
