Iowa Football Recruiting

So Akron was better than Northwestern last year because they won head to head? You're not making sense. Upsets happen in college football and 2017 is a perfect example of that

Akron didn’t have the same number of wins as Northwestern last year. No where did I say head to head was the only criteria. I said if the teams had the same number of wins the better team was the one who won head to head while playing a more difficult schedule. I would ignore that part of the discussion as well if I were you.

No I'm not. If you want to disagree with unbiased AP voters feel free to

In 2017 it’s reasonable to believe that the teams were pretty equal in talent. I don’t think either had a clear edge. Isn’t it more reasonable to use had to head results on the field as the tiebreaker vs subjective rankings?

No that doesn’t fit CyTwins’ narrative so he has to find something that does. The same will occur this year. The only question is what retroactive criteria will he insist on using this time next year?

The 2017 teams were not equal in talent. Iowa had more.

If it wasn't Iowa's Super Bowl the head to head would be much more meaningful to me in comparing seasons

Your Super Bowl bye week is huge IMO. Pollard and MC pulling out all the stops this year!

It is an encouraging sign if you ask me. Haven't had to worry about the hok game and it's impact on our national position in the past. Now that we have established ourselves at the top of the Big XII with expectations for high rankings and a say in CFP, we have to focus on every game.

If your are shooting for 8-4, doesn't really matter. If you are shooting for 10-2/11-1, it is a big game.

Has to be tough having this game mean something for ISU and it's national aspirations while not really being a factor for ToE and the 'chase' for the B1G West.

Iowa knows how much it means to isu regardless of what isu’s national aspirations appear to be. When the clones win against the Hawks in Ames you all storm the field.
