RECRUITING INSIDER: Gunnerson intel

The good days were a week ago....do you not remember the day last week when we signed like 4 guys?

Some of you guys need help, CMC missing on a 3* kid who played 2A ball isn't the end of the world.

Can't remember the website---something something sports network, but it ranked Alabama as better in football than ISU, and THEN it said Duke has a better history in basketball...

...so I'm really not sure what's going to happen next.

All I will say is that it is no shame to lose a recruit to Nebraska....their campus is really nice, Lincoln is good for college kids, they have excellent facilities, several national title trophies, and Frost is a blond haired version of Campbell to recruits. I wish the kid nothing but the best and hope he dominates Iowa every time they play.

Fred, is that you?

Godspeed mr gunnerson. Despite all the inappropriate speculation and butthurt on these boards, we all wish you were a cyclone. Good luck out there (even though it is Nebby). Glad the clones wont have to play against you.
It’s still not Signing Day yet. When ISU goes 12-0 this season—and Nebraska...doesn’t—young Mr. Gunnerson may find that he has some tough decisions to make.

I don’t expect that CMC will close the door on him.

Its too bad to miss on him but we will be fine at the position without him. I'm probably more disappointed that we missed on a kid close to home after being his first offer and him being a priority from that time. Add in he used to be a cyclone "fan" and that is the disappointing part.

I have a gut feeling this didn't end well between Gunnerson and CMC. Especially after seeing Gunnerson's comments after committing, and then CMC's post the day after.

Gunnerson said.... "The coaching staff recruited me the right way and were honest with me throughout the process. Coach Chinander did a great job making me feel at home. I talked it over with my family. We came to a mutual agreement that Nebraska will help me reach my full potential on and off the field."

CMC posted the following day.... "We can't forget what's winning here. The quality, the character, the type of person that fits Ames, Iowa, might not fit everywhere else."

Again, he posts that type of stuff often. It’s really silly to assume it’s about gunnerson.

I'm disappointed that as good as CMC has been, and as much a priority as they have given in getting out to the local HS is the state, that we will leave this recruiting cycle with none of the top 5 in Iowa committed to the Cyclones. We have reported offers to all of them as well. Iowa got 4 of the 5 and now Nebraska has the other.

Why does it disappoint you?
