Iowa Football Recruiting

Listen, I know what you're getting at, but the past two years have been the only time we've argued recently whether Iowa State is better than Iowa..

Still not understanding how you could argue ISU was better than Iowa was last year.

There are a ton of factors that go into play with this, but I think that when Iowa State was rolling, we were the better team. Iowa might've been the better team when we played in Kinnick in early September, but I think if we would have squared off at the end of the year, we we would have won.

You sure about that? The cyclones didn’t look so good against KSU and Drake

That's what I don't get. They didn't finish the season strong at all. They lost to Texas in a game they were never really in, almost lost to a bad KSU team, almost lost to non-scholarship Drake at home and then lost their bowl game.

I'll take "Things hok fans were mocked for saying five years ago" for $2,000, Alex.

Yeah we looked pretty bad in the first three quarters of the KSU game and bounced back. The Drake game was a fluke game but that's okay we still won. I was talking about when we won 5 straight games in conference. I would take finishing 7-1 to end the regular season and make a good bowl game than losing 3 straight games, which essentially booted Iowa out of the B10 West race to make it to a bowl game you make every other year. We also had a victory against another top 10 opponent, who at the time had the heisman front runner on their team, and Iowa's best win was against.... Iowa State.

Really? Oklahoma State has finished ranked 8 out of the last 11 years

How many NY6 bowls? How many conference title bids? How many playoff bids? You know, the stuff that matters. They’re a better program, but not in ways that make a substantive difference.

Almost only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades.

ISU walked into a buzzsaw in Austin. Didn’t have arguably their best playmaker on offense for a half to get a groove, and the winner of that game undoubtedly was playing in the CCG.

They weren’t ever really “in it”, but never really felt they were far out of it either.
