One of the Top 10 selling albums of all time came out in 1980. AC/DC with Back in Black. Lots of great tunes including Hell's Bells, Shook Me all Night Long, Shoot to Thrill, Back in Black, Have a Drink on Me.

Anyone remember "Heavy Metal Half Hour" on MTV? We used to race back from class to get in our house den and crank it up!!

I had foot surgery last summer and since I knew I was going to be out of commission for a couple weeks I picked up Vice City on Amazon for $10. Between VC and NCAA Football 2005 I played an embarrassing amount of PS2 over the course of 2 weeks.

Bon Jovi is as 80s of a band as any band with the soaring guitars, big hair and tight-fitting pants. Lyrically, this song checks out with references to struggling with blue collar jobs, talk of possibly living on the streets and being a rebel. That being said, this may be too likable of a song to include here.

I am totally making a playlist of all of these songs. So much nostalgia.

We've dipped a little into hair bands. There were some real 80s classics.

Side story: I got my 2 year old to respond with "ROCK!" every time I say "I wanna rock!"

I saw Twisted Sister at the Agora in New Haven Ct. for a buck or two a year before they hit it big.
