IMO the Husker fanbase in Western Iowa has diminished quite a bit from their heyday in the 90's. There's still some around, but it's not 1/3 each like it used to be. I'm sure Council Bluffs is an exception, but it seems more like 45:45:10 at most now in most towns.

Growing up Western Iowa in the 90's I remember a small handful of ISU fans, and the rest Husker fans. I don't recall any Iowa fans in school.

Now it seems like there's a fair amount of Iowa fans, and the same handful of ISU fans, plus a few more. Huskers fans far less.

I think the bandwagon Husker fans jumped to Iowa. Not sure why you wouldn't just bandwagon your way to Alabama or a big time program, but whatever.

I guess I am an anomaly. My first job after graduation was in Klamath Falls, OR. My second job was in Pittsburgh, PA. My third was in Madison/DeForest, WI. I knew Iowa State folks in all 3 of those locations.
Of course Hoks get jobs outside of Iowa, they all go home to IL and get jobs at McDonald's and Walmart.

Some Hoks get jobs in Iowa. Somebody has to sell insurance to Iowa fans in Cedar Rapids.

Dodger - some of what you say is true. But Iowa is a national brand at least according to sports publications and Forbes. ISU will have more graduates in Iowa because they can’t get jobs outside of Iowa. That is a fact. And if anyone thinks Campbell will be around in a couple years then I will have some of what you are smoking. Hell Pollard will probably be gone. ISU is nothing more than a stepping stone. Can anyone say Chizek, Fred and Cael? And 2 of those 2 are Clones. Chizek got a prominent SEC job after winning 5 games in 2 years. That is the perception for ISU. Winning 5 games in 2 years is seen outside of Story County as a success. It will always be a Hawkeye St.

I have no issues with Hawk fans that want to be here for an actual discussion. But if he wants to act like an idiot and purposely troll then goodbye. He used to be a decent poster.
