The Dumbest Hok Ever Born

Iowa set the stage for all of this when they decided to forget about educating Iowa kids and doubled down taking as many out of Illinois students as they could. UI gets to charge them out of state tuition, plus the state for some reason gives Iowa more money per student than it does UNI or ISU. ISU went the other way, wanted to become the school that educates kids from Iowa.

Well guess what has happened, the students from out of state that went to Iowa, left the state when they were finished with school, and the ISU students stayed in larger numbers. ISU made Des Moines a primary area to draw fans from.

Drive around the Northern and Western sides of Des Moines, and you see as many ISU colors as Iowa colors. Lot more ISU license plates out on the road than ever before. Iowa fans are now in denial. Their fan base is older and passing away, while the ISU fanbase is a younger crowd, Pollard has made great choices about getting young families into the game, not over charging people and has created a fun family atmosphere.

GO Cyclones.

Pollard doing his part to take over the metro truly is incredible

All about parents 'saving face'. Well-heeled Chicagoland parents see their kids failing to get accepted into U of Illinois, U of Wisconsin, N.D., Indiana U, Purdue, et al.

~ They're not going to suffer personal humiliation and having to tell their friends and neighbors that their kid is a mediocre student, so the U of Iowa is a perfect fall-back. 3.5 hours over on I-80--it's a no-brainer.

Meh. There are certainly douche Hawk fans on this board. Dexter is not one of them.

Dexter seems to be changing. Perhaps our douches are bringing out his douchiness. In any case, his recent posts have become douchier. He's heading toward a ban or at least my Ignore List.

A thread of this topic is destined to become a long-running megathread, particularly when the trolls start with the "yeah, but I know a Clone fan who is dumb too" posts.

Kujawa has little man syndrome. Seems like an insecure little biotch. Hopefully he can get some mental health and maybe a penis extension to help his confidence.

From what I've been told he's literally just crazy and has some social issues

That guy is an idiot even for that board, which has a bunch of idiots. Now he's challenging guys to a fight?

Watch out driving that mini-van around Carroll.

I attended a great-aunt's funeral 10 years ago in Albia, IA (I'm a shirt-tail relative of Adam Haluska)

I met some of his extended family from Carroll and the topic of sports came up @ the post-funeral luncheon
- They seemed like butthurt Hawk fans, whining about ISU people and the treatment in Ames during FB and MBB games. This was a couple years after Adam graduated

It must be annoying as hell living in western Iowa, where the towns' population are split three ways into Cyclone, Hawkeye, and Husker fans

IMO the Husker fanbase in Western Iowa has diminished quite a bit from their heyday in the 90's. There's still some around, but it's not 1/3 each like it used to be. I'm sure Council Bluffs is an exception, but it seems more like 45:45:10 at most now in most towns.

I actually start laughing when iowa fans start talking about poor treatment in Ames. First off, I have no idea why so many of them decide to go. I know that tailgating at JTS is fun, but they seem to think that theirs is better, so why not just go there and avoid being the visiting fan? I went to two games in IC (one W, one L) and won't go back due to the treatment by fans with zero provocation except wearing a red shirt. Pretty easy decision...bad experience, not worth the trouble, decided not to do it again. It's not hard.

People talking about banning Dexter. LOL. You are in an in-state rivals thread. You aren't going to like everything coming out of a Hawkeye fan's mouth on this thread. Would you rather have a one sided argument with yourself or put up with one of the more decent Hawk fans on this site?

I have no issues with Hawk fans that want to be here for an actual discussion. But if he wants to act like an idiot and purposely troll then goodbye. He used to be a decent poster.
