Tough day for EIU hoops hopes

I'm not sure if it's jealousy, per se, but it can't have been a fun spring for Iowa fans. They had 3 players leave the program early, and Jorbo could be out all year. And to fill their holes, Fran has... given a scholarship to a walk on. That's got to have been frustrating.
It's getting pretty late in the game for adding talent for next season.

I would classify it as jealousy. There are posters questioning why isu is able to land spring transfers and fran hasn't even offered any.

While the wants to get healthy part is true, he wants to miss this year

This is awesome. Wonder what dominoes this fool on HN is talking about in regards to Iowa's recruiting of Foster?

I sure hope we can land this kid. He could be the first of many dominoes that fall. His commitment would be huge for the future of Iowa basketball.

I think the first sentence should be "I sure hope we can land someone."

I would be so mad if I were an Iowa Basketball fan right now. Literally our spring couldn't have gone better and theirs couldn't have been worse

I suppose you could say getting the TAMU kid would make an already A spring an A+ spring. Iowa on the other hand, did they land anything?

The first of many dominoes over a decade into Fran's time at Iowa? LOL. Wow.

Yes, but Fran did point out to all of us that recruits love him and things are great.

Nope but I still hear they have that grad transfer who sucks visiting next weekend

It appears Iowa fans are expecting Wieskamp to step up big time next year. I watched him playing few times this year and I wasn’t overly impressed. Good player but not a great player . As he is expected to shoot more this year, he will average more points per game but his shooting percentage will go down significantly. I will be really surprised if he shoots over 40% from 3 pt again in his career. He shot over 40% from 3 pts mainly due to careful shot selection. He is a good spot up shooter but not a great shooter like Bohannon.

JW is really good but the lack of guards is going to really hurt him. If Iowa had a capable distributor he would fill it up.

I've heard from a close source to Jordan Bohannon that right now it's highly unlikely he steps on the court at all next year. Says he would rather play it safe and get a 5th year rather than come back too early, mess it up again, and risk being hurt all year.

If he's going to miss a year, he should spread his wings and find a better program. Anyone could develop him better than Fran.

Random question, but why did Jorbo wait until late May to get this surgury? could have done it 2 months ago.

There's no way JBo will play anywhere but Iowa. He's a huge Hawkeye fan who has been a 3 year starter. He realistically should be starting for a mid major but he got the opportunity and honestly has done better than a lot of people, including me, thought he would. I don't think Jordan's success was because Fran is a great developer, rather I think it had more to do with a chip on his shoulder, which I can respect.
