Fred had open-heart surgery on April 17 -- five days after Nick committed.

TJ was hired to return on March 27, so he was the man left in charge.

Considering what Fred had on his plate with his heart and the various indications that we've had that him moving over to the Bulls was under heavy consideration if not effectively arranged a long time before that, I think I am comfortable calling Nick a "tweener" recruit. He was not fully brought on by Fred, but he was not recruited by Prohm, either. TJ seemed to be running the program at that point, and he also brought on Nick Noskowiak on April 27, too.
You have some support for your case as Nick was a legacy recruit after his brother, but I think he obviously signed up to play for Iowa State/with the other guys or for TJ (who was on staff when Chris was in Ames) probably more than for Hoiberg. I am sure Nick could have seen the writing on the wall as much as the rest of us and, heck, probably knew what was coming. Considering he spent four years under Prohm, however, he has to be a Prohm guy now.
