He was second team all conference that year and was the second leading scorer on a team that was a 3 seed. Lol teams didn't have to scheme against him

He was like the third or fourth option on that team. He put up good stats because he played 34 minutes a game for a really good team (because Iowa State had no other PG). He obviously developed into an awesome player, but that statement was 100% accurate.

At a certain point you have to admit that you know very little about college basketball since you don't watch it much. It is ok to admit you don't know much about the game. It really is ok.

At a certain point you have to admit that you know very little about college basketball since you don't watch it much. It is ok to admit you don't know much about the game. It really is ok.

Which is certainly admirable...yet hardly qualification for him to pontificate non-stop about college sports(football or basketball).

I'm assuming he's going to try and save face and say that Monte was 3rd option (not 4th anymore) after Niang and McKay but then completely forgot he said this:

McKay is an overrated defensive player whose only offensive skill is catching alley-oops.

McKay has virtually no skill set and his game is based entirely off athleticism. He's a very good rebounder and is good at catching alley-oops. He's a decent weak side shot blocker, but a very average defender in all other senses. He's a terrible free throw shooter and turns the ball over a ton for a post. He's a stronger, more athletic Melsahn Basabe (without the development of a semblance of a jump shot).

Stylistically Basabe and McKay were very similar (garbage men relying on length/athleticism). They also have nearly identical stats. Even Basabe's freshman year is very similar to McKay this year, and Basabe played about 25 minutes per game that year (not far off McKay's minutes from last year).
The Uthoff to Burton comparison is garbage because they are not similar players and Burton has never played significant minutes.
