*** #14 IOWA STATE vs #5 Texas A&M Game(day) Thread ***

I actually thought this was a bounce back game for McKay. Looked like his old self at times.

Niang and Nader made some bad choices. Monte could have been more aggressive because he did well when he was.

It's a HUGE mental test to play a talented team on the road, with fans going nuts (as they do in Hilton) and then have a different set of rules than the other team for long stretches. It gets into players heads when the officials suddenly say you can only take one step and the other team can take two. We had the game in hand and when the worst stretch of bogus calls happened we just cracked, then Georges having to miss huge chunks of the game contributed as well.

All the travels except Nader's euro-step were correct calls.

This is just dumb. This was a huge game. We haven't won many, if any, big games on the road. That's important come seeding time. And it's not like we're so good we can pick and choose which games to compete in and which to mail it in. The better team won.

Not many teams have a top 10 win on the road. Don't be a *******.

Didn't catch our three wins against current top five teams, or do they not get credit for that?
I'm just stating fact. Weren't mentally tough enough to win this one down the stretch. What's your deal? Do you not agree? Yes they get credit for beating 3 wins in the top 5. It's been a good season so far.

No. We need only meltdown and cry-whining. This team is smart. Not perfect. But smart.

Tough game today. Been a gauntlet couple weeks. **** happens.
You do the loudest ******** on the board. Boo hoo some fans are pointing out why we lost today. Why don't you leave if it makes you cry so much.

Two good teams. One had to lose.

Is georges hurt?

He looked fluid in his movement late, so hopefully he's OK. I wouldn't think they'd let him back in if there was concerns of something really bad. His last foul was actually quite a move in itself.

Can I get a screenshot of the readout from your Mental Toughness measuring device?

This should be one game that none of us complain.

Its not all "mental" sometime the other guys hit shots, and foul situation and other things put you at a disadvantage.
Occasionally, mental fortitude does not always equate to wins.

Got beat by a good team on the road, it happens.

Move on to WVU, get a win move to 6-3 in conference.

They will be fine yes. several reasons for a loss, but give me a break about giving these refs a pass on this one! Theres no question horrible officiating played a role too. For example, ISU was called for five offensive fouls to zero for aTm! Not even taking "travelgate" into the equation.

Nader's "offensive foul" was one of the worst calls you'll see. If that's an offensive foul you could foul out an entire team in the first 5 minutes and win every game by forfeit. A defender can't just body into somebody and fall down to get a foul. The fact that this foul was sandwiched between two travel calls where the refs didn't understand the basic rules of basketball gets them an F grade.

Easy math on this loss ... ISU 4-12 on free throws, A&M went 15-23. 11 fewer makes, 10 point loss.

If you couldn't see it I can't help you. Will you agree if Coach Prohm says it? Stick to saying it was 100% refs (even though they were awful) and complaining about our fans.

Absolutely not, don't think any of our guys matched the intensity of the mustached dude on the A&M bench.

And that little brat screaming at Niang to sit down.

It was a little scary if the older guy next to him was his father since he seemed to not even notice his kid looking like a little ****head on national TV.

The lack of depth is affecting everything, more so in the player's heads. We have slowed the game down big time in the half court (except for bone headed Nader 3 balls and Niang's 3 balls that go in), don't run as much, don't take charges (Niang was king of the charges his freshman and sophomore years), and are not as aggressive on D.
