THT Going into the Draft

All the more reason to declare now then. Get your money off potential if they're willing to give it to you. Don't gamble on whether they still want you a couple years down the road.

For those saying that he won't make it or he's going to the G league, remember that NBA 1st rounders have guaranteed contracts.

Completely agree. This process is 99% driven by the NBA. If they want to draft you then you should go. If that is unlikely then you should probably stay in school.

I don’t buy the mock drafts that are out there given how his season ended. I also don’t think he will get invited to the combine. I think players having a strong NCAA tourney that are currently below him in the mock drafts will get drafted before him. He will be round 2 (not a guaranteed contract). He would be best served by waiting another year.

I'm glad your bullish. A lot of ?'s and the biggest is who is going to score. We have roughly 20-22 ppg returning for next year.
My bad. I'll get to telling everyone how much were going to suck.

No one cares what you are buying.

Is Prohm really going to extend an offer to the 396th ranked player as a replacement for THT?

Have you even seen an ounce of this kids film? This kid is incredibly underrated and I’d be elated if we landed him..this kid is going to be a stud. Maybe that’s why isu, KSU, Wisconsin, and many others are wanting him right now.

And hopefully the NBA evaluators are realistic with him throughout the process so he can continue to make the right choice for him. If he's not invited to the combine or the evaluations aren't showing him as high as he expected, he still could come back to school (I guess).

But if multiple draft services are picking him around 20, that's a ways away from a second round pick. I get that he didn't produce as well as we would have hoped here, but the professionals doing the evaluations believe right now that he'll get picked in the first round. I would guess these people know more about this than we do

Truly baffling how some on here don’t understand how nba works...They aren’t looking for THT to see one minute of nba action for at least 2 years Probably...Outside of lottery...pick 15-30 are mostly all potential picks..young kids they can get into their system and mold how they see fit.

THT measurable are insane...he’s 18...and they saw enough at times to see the potential.

The only thing THT has to be worried about is getting drafted in 2nd rd. If he goes around 20-25th then he will be guaranteed 2 years and about $5 million. If he drops to the first pick in the 2 nd rd he’s guaranteed ZERO.

While it is highly unlikely he returns...it’s always possible he doesn’t impress in his workouts and his agent feels he could drop to 2nd rd.

Both THT and LW better get used to life overseas or life in the D league (getting up early for long bus rides and lots of dinners at the Golden Corral) because they won't be playing in the NBA next year.
Mfers are set to make more money than you and I will ever see, and you're dragging them down.

I honestly can't see how fans think THT should pass up potentially millions of dollars, to come back to Ames, Iowa and play for free, while having to deal with pointless classes.

I didn’t say he wouldn’t get drafted on potential. I just don’t think his potential will get realized unless he grows. He’s a tweener.

That was my comment a year ago.

Potential to be a great college player...NBA tweener.

Jeremy has me blocked, so he won't see this, but it's worth saying.

He rips Prohm for going after this low rated recruit, but also doesn't want him going after one n dones like THT, and thinks we need more 4 year players....

Please THT, turn down a guaranteed contract in the NBA so you can come back and play on my favorite team. I would do the same for you. Also, I've watched every ISU game this year and I have it on good authority (from me) that you will not make it in the NBA. In other words, you suck but I really want you to play on my favorite team. So you don't suck, but only if you're on my team.

Seems reasonable right? Is jimlad needed? I hope not.

Thanks Coach GeneriQuote

I’m not sure where we got crossed up Gunner. I have always contributed to this board in a civil manner. I have admittedly been critical of Prohm on some in-game adjustments but I’m not sure I’m alone in that thought. I think you have heard the same criticisms from CW, Stansbury, Blum and Hines. However I have also given him credit in high school recruiting, ability to respond to adverse situations and some of the in-game adjustments he made against Baylor and Kansas in KC.

Life is going to be more difficult without THT and LW on offense. Prentiss Nixon is best seen as a capable ball handler and shooter and the same can be said for TH. We need to sign an impact grad transfer. If not a grad transfer then I will “settle” for David Jenkins from South Dakota State :)

THT is going to be a solid NBA player and I think this is absolutely a smart business decision for him. I’m not sure how much “1 and done” carries on the recruiting trail anymore but I would rather be selling THT’s situation to a recruit then having an opposing coach pointing to LW’s situation.

You can’t fault the young man for wanting to chase his dream and perfect his craft while getting paid. Does it hurt Iowa State’s roster for next year? Of course but we pay CSP over 2.1 million dollars to have a contingency plan in place that will allow us to make the tournament.

You know that is a bit ridiculous and a problem for the NBA. If they want to lower the age and build the G-league they have to guarantee at least some money to 2nd round picks. Just too big of a difference and so few that make it to the first round.

I know, but sadly there's others out there that have similar thoughts.

Some call him a troll, but I'm actually thinking he might not be. Honestly, I think he's just that insufferable.
Yeah I don't think he's trolling. He's just a huge Prohm hater and, as you said, insufferable
